No Shipwrecks 3/1 Thursday Thoughts

Life is full of perils and of hidden reefs, on which we shall make shipwreck without the continual succor of the grace of GOD. Yet how can we ask for it, unless we are with Him? How can we be with Him, unless our thoughts are ever of Him? How can He be in our thoughts, unless we form a holy habit of abiding in His Presence, there asking for the grace we need each moment of our life?

When We Are Busied 2/29 Wed. wisdom

When we are busied, or meditating on spiritual things, even in our time of set devotion, whilst our voice is rising in prayer, we ought to cease for one brief moment, as often as we can, to worship God in the depth of our being, to taste Him though it be in passing, to touch Him as it were by stealth. Since you cannot but know that GOD is with you in all you undertake, that He is at the very depth and center of your soul, why should you not thus pause an instant from time to time in your outward business, and even in the act of prayer, to worship Him within your soul, to praise Him, to entreat His aid, to offer Him the service of your heart, and give Him thanks for all His loving-kindnesses and tender-mercies?

Set Free 2/28 Tuesday Truth

Three people accepted the Lord through Norwalk Alliance Church's ministries on Sunday evening. The Holy Spirit moved very strongly upon 16 people at an impromptu gathering at our pastor's house Sunday evening. People were freed from the baggage of their past and lives were transformed.

I consider myself as the most wretched of men, full of sores and corruption, and who has committed all sorts of crimes against his King. Touched with a sensible regret, I confess to Him all my wickedness, I ask His forgiveness, I abandon myself in His hands that He may do what He pleases with me. The King, full of mercy and goodness, very far from chastening me, embraces me with love, makes me eat at His table, serves me with His own hand, gives me the key of His treasures; He converses and delights Himself with me incessantly, in a thousand and a thousand ways, and treats me in all respects as His favorite.

Brother Lawrence 2/27 Monday Meditation

I'm going to take a break from quoting "Pentecostal pioneers" and spend the next two weeks quoting a 17th Century French monk, Brother Lawrence. His tiny book, The Practice of the Presence of God, with Spiritual Maxims, is considered a devotional classic. Brother Lawrence's greatest contribution to Christianity was an idea that was somewhat radical for his time . . . the thought that we can live moment by moment in the presence of God, as much while at work as while at prayer. In fact, he considered appointed times of prayer to be interruptions to the communion he had with God while working in the kitchen of the monastery.

Pray remember what I have recommended to you, which is, to think often on God, by day, by night, in your business, and even in your diversions. He is always near you and with you; leave Him not alone. You would think it rude to leave a friend alone who came to visit you; why, then, must God be neglected? Do not, then forget Him, but think on Him often, adore Him continually, live and die with Him; this is the glorious employment of a Christian. In a word, this is our profession; if we do not know it, we must learn it. I will endeavor to help you with my prayers.

Final Thoughts from E.W. Kenyon 2/24 Friday Faith

This concludes the quotes from E.W. Kenyon's In His Presence.

You have read the book.
Your honest heart has been deeply affected.
You have discovered treasures that you never knew existed.
You have found your rights and privileges in a Prayer Life.
Now what are you going to do with this knowledge?
You remember that knowledge brings responsibility; and if we do not assume the responsibility, it brings judgment.
You know too much now, not to act upon this knowledge.
Begin a Prayer Life of your own; then bring together little groups and teach them this Prayer Life.
You see, Prayer is a most vital and necessary thing to know about as a believer.
You can do it.

Thursday Thoughts 2.23 The Word Means Nothing

They are like the one in James 5:14 who calls for the elders to come and pray over him and anoint him with oil, and the prayer of the elders heals him. (Note that he doesn't say "the prayer of faith heals him".)

The only faith he had, was in the elders.

That is Sense Knowledge faith.

He can see the elders. He can hear them pray; can feel their hands upon his head.

The Word actually means nothing to him.

Had he believed the Word instead of sending for the elders or asking anyone to pray for him, he would have looked up and said, "Father, you laid this disease on Jesus, and it is unseemly for me to bear it. I dishonor Thee in bearing it. So in the Name of Jesus, I command it to leave me, and I command Satan to take it with him. I have no use for it, and I refuse to have it."

In Jesus' Name he gets his personal deliverance.

He honors the Word, and the Name.

He honors the Father and Jesus.

He has learned to take his place in Christ.

"I know my Master. . . " 2/22 Wed. Wisdom

If you live with a loved one, and it is a love union and a love walk, you are very sensitive to the things that the loved one enjoys and desires.

Now you begin to live with the Father and the Master until after awhile you will say as Jesus did, "I know my Father."

You will say, "I know my Master. . . "

"I am walking in the light of the life of God in my spirit.

"I am visiting with the Father almost continuously."

That is the secret of faith.

You haven't any consciousness of faith or the lack of it.

You have a desire to please Him.

You have a consciousness of what He wants to do through you to help others.

He and you are walking together.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the reality and the life."

That life is a love life; that way is a love way; and we are walking through life with Him, loving and helping people.

Walk in Love 2/21 Tuesday Truth

If we walk in love, we never pray out of His will, and if we understand Heb. 4:16, "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

This love life permits us to walk into the very presence of the Father. You may go into the throne room and stand in His presence and make your petitions known in that name, and as sure as you do, that petition is heard.

I Am a Conqueror 2/20 Monday Meditation

This week will be the conclusion of E.W. Kenyon quotes, then on to another author.

When one becomes God-inside minded, when he takes for granted that "greater is He that is in him than he that is in the world," he goes out and faces life's problems with the sense of a conqueror.

This is almost an unknown practice in the church for men and women to say in every crisis of their life, "I am a conqueror; I am more than a victor, because the Creator dwells in me. He can put me over. He can make me a success. I can't fail." . . .

If the Holy Spirit is voicing the desires of the Father through your lips, those desires will be met and granted.

No Results 2/17 Friday Faith

It makes no difference how many promises you plead, if you are not walking in love, your prayer life will be a failure.

Many people have come to me for prayer when they were sick and I have prayed for them and obtained no results. When I asked them why my prayers were not answered, they confessed that they had bitterness in their heart toward someone. The moment that bitterness was taken away, they were perfectly well. . .

"That we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ and love one another."

God's Word Abides 2/16 Thursday thoughts

Now we have the Father and Jesus and the Throne back of every word.

If that Word should fail, it would dethrone God. It cannot fail.

God cannot be separated from His Word.

Every Word of God abides.

The word of man is as grass, but the Word of God lives on through the ages.

This Word is like God . . .

We contact God through the Word. God contacts us through the Word. We act on the Word.

Now arise in your prayer life. Take the place God has given you. Set men free; heal the sick; save the lost.

You can do it.

Be a Prayer Warrior 2/15 Wednesday Wisdom

You have seen what you are in Christ, now take your place as a prayer warrior. Make hell fear you. Make heaven glad. Fill hearts of men with joy witnessing your winning prayer life.

Healing the sick is His will. Saving the lost is His will. Breaking Satan's dominion over men is His will.

Praying for ministers and missionaries is His will.

Pray for this literature we are sending out that men will take their places as they know the Word. (Pray the same thing for those who read this on Facebook. --Lep)

Now swing free in your prayer life. Be big! Honor the Word.

Dare to do exploits for Him.

Power of Attorney 2/9 Thursday Thoughts

He gives us the power of attorney to use His name: "Whatsoever ye ask in my name, that will I do." "If ye ask anything in my name; that will I do." . . .

This is dealing with demoniacal forces as illustrated in Acts 3 where we see the man lying at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, evidently with infantile paralysis. "And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him said, 'Look on us.'" "In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, walk."

In that Name, he broke the dominion of Satan over the man.

That man had believed in sickness, weakness, and he was helpless.

The Name of Jesus broke the dominion of faith in disease and weakness and in its place gave perfect healing and a new faith in health. . .

We are coming into the realm of the supernatural where we see ourselves as representatives of Omnipotence and where we have an opportunity to draw on Omnipotence to meet Satan in open combat.     -- E. W. Kenyon

The Word Can't Lie 2/8 Wed. wisdom

The Word can't lie. It is a part of God Himself.

We act on the Word. God will make it good.

What a foundation is this for a prayer life!

We have God's own Word to back us. No Word from God can fail.

We can have real assurance in our prayer. When we pray in Jesus' Name, it is as though He prayed. It is answered.

Money in the Bank 2/7 Tuesday Truth

If someone wrote you a letter and told you that he had deposited five thousand dollars to your account in the bank to take care of your bills, and if you knew that he was financially able to do it, you would not hesitate a moment. You could hardly wait to get to the bank. You would hand the letter to the cashier with confidence. You know the man who wrote the letter; you know the promise he made; you know the money is there waiting for you.

Is the Word of your Father, the Word of the Master, to be depended upon as the word of a friend?

What a background is this for faith! What a prayer life can grow out of truth like this!

You can see what He is to us and what we are to Him.

Nothing is impossible to Him, and all His ability is ours.

Use That Name 2/6 Monday Meditation

When the Master was ready to leave the earth to go back to the Father He said: "All authority hath been given unto me, in heaven and on earth; go ye therefore and make disciples of all the nations, teaching them to observe all I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."

We have never taught them to observe or to do all that He commanded.

Didn't He command them with love's commandment to love one another, even as He had loved; to bear one another's burdens as He bore ours; to lay hands on the sick and to cast out demons in His name?

Can't you see what it meant when He said, "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age?"

If we could use that Name with the authority invested in it, we could break the power of Satan over our loved ones; we cold heal the sick. Instead of there being just one George Mueller caring for thousands of little orphans by faith, there would be thousands of men and women whose prayers would feed and clothe the needy and the hungry.

We have never take the Word seriously. We have never acted as though it were true.

His Will 2/3 Friday Faith

You can't make a success of the prayer life unless you know His will; unless you have His own wisdom and understanding, you are going to fail.

No matter how much you pray, your prayers will not be effective until you know His will.

I John 5:14-15: "And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us; and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."

That settles the issue.

If we are in His will, our prayers are heard and answered and we get the thing for which we are praying.

A Son Beloved 2/2 Thursday Thoughts

I have found that Light of Life.

I am no longer walking in the darkness of sense knowledge.

I am no longer crippled by my inferiority complex or my sense of unworthiness.

I know that I am a son beloved; that I have my place in the Father's presence.

When we come to understand love's intimacy, love's privileges, love's right to the Father's ear, we may rush into his presence at any time without an apology and lay our needs before Him -- not only our personal needs, but the needs of those about us.

We can enjoy the ability and wisdom of our Father, and we will go out with that strange, sweet fragrance that is found only in the Throne Room, a fragrance that will cling to our garments.

Yes, our very words will have in them Love's own sweet fragrance.

Men will know that we have been with Jesus, have been in fellowship with Him.
