You Are Necessary to God 12/29 Friday Faith

I WILL NOT BE POSTING ON MONDAY. HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR. You are just as necessary to God in His plan for the salvation of mankind as God is necesary to you. That is a tremendous statement. I want to repeat it. Christians are just as necessary to Almighty God in order to accomplish His purpose in the world as God is necesary to the Christian. Without God we could not be saved. Without God we could not live. Without God we would never reach a maturity in God. Without man, God would have no medium through which He could express Himself to the world, by which He could minister the Spirit of the living God to the world. -- John G. Lake.

God's Purpose 12/28 Thursday Thoughts

The purpose of the Lord and Savior was not only to redeem us out of filth and sin, but that we should grow up into manhood and womanhood in God and take a place in the world and accomplish the thing that God intended us to accomplish and fellowship with Him on His plane of understanding. -- John G. Lake.

Jesus the Triumphant 12/27 Wednesday Wisdom

Jesus was the triumphant One. Did you ever stop to think of Jesus at the throne of God? I like to think of the twentieth century Christ -- not the Jesus that lived in the world two thousand years ago, not the humiliated Jesus, not Jesus dying on the cross for my sin, but the glorified, exalted Son of God at the throne of God who stands declaring, "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death" (Revelation 1:18) And that is the Christ that breathes His power into your soul and mine, and that is the consciousness that is breathed from heaven in the Holy Ghost when it comes to your heart. Amen. -- John G. Lake

In Touch With the Powers of God 12/22 Friday Faith

This will be the last post until Wed., 12/27. Have a blessed Christmas! We have not yet learned to keep in touch with the powers of God. Once in awhile our soul rises, and we see the flame of God accomplish this wonder and that. But beloved, Jesus Christ lived in the presence of God every hour of the day and night. Never a word proceeded from the mouth of Jesus Christ but what was God's Word. "The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." (John 6:63) When you are I are lost in the Son of God, and the fires of Jesus burn in our hearts like they did in Him, our words will be the words of life, and of spirit... --John G. Lake

Holy Triumph 12/21 Thursday Thoughts

I will not be posting Monday or Tuesday. Have a blessed Christmas! In those early centuries of Christianity, Christianity did not go into the world apologizing. It went to slay the powers of darkness and undo the works of the devil, and it lived in holy triumph. -- John G. Lake.

The Kingliest Man 12/20 Wednesday Wisdom

So the real Christian ought to be the kingliest man in the whole earth, the princeliest man in the whole earth -- as kingly and princely and lovely and holy as the Son of God -- as big as Jesus, with the power of Jesus, and the love of Jesus. Bless God. -- John G. Lake.

Sleep 12/19 Tuesday Truth

[I have prayed this same way with many people who have sleep problems. - Lep] Yesterday, Brother Fogwill quoted that wondersul scripture that, "He giveth his beloved sleep" (Psalm 127:2). And last night after retiring it was impossible for me to sleep. I said, "Dear Lord, I am Your beloved, and I want to sleep," and I slept like a child all night. If you have any trouble with sleeplessness, and you are the beloved of God, just make God come through with His promise. -- John G. Lake

Enthusiast for the Son of God 12/18 Monday Meditation

So I have become an enthusiast for the Son of God. His salvation to me is the mightiest conception that ever dawned in the nature of man or God. And I long and pray and rejoice in the expectation of a day to come when the universal race of man and the angels in heaven and creatures of earth will join in one glad song of holy power and glory to the Son of God, saying as the Scriptures indicate, "Honor and might and glory and blessing be unto Him who liveth forever and ever. Amen." -- John G. Lake

The Eternal Healer 12/15 Friday Faith

To my heart Jesus Christ is the Eternal Healer. He was the Healer in the beginning. He was the Healer before there was any flood. He was the Healer after the flood. He was the Healer during His earth life. He is the Healer in this dispensation. He is the Healer forever! Bless God. So long as need of healing exists, Jesus is the Healer. Blessed be His name. -- John G. Lake.

The Crowning Creation 12/14 Thursday Thoughts

I once listened to an eminent divine preaching from the text, "What is man?" and when he got through I had a feeling that man was a kind of whipped cur with his tail between his legs, sneaking out to throw himself into the lake saying, "Here goes nothing." I said, "He has never caught the fire of the thing Jesus is endeavoring to teach through the apostle -- that man was the crowning creation of God. That God endowed him with a nature and qualities that by the grace of God can express more of God than any other of God's creations. -- John G. Lake

Babyhood 12/13 Wednesday Wisdom

My Lord is not dead! But I'll tell you, dear hearts -- we have been satisfied to live in Christ in our babyhood, to perpetuate our babyhood, and to go on shouting like a lot of babies, instead of entering into the secrets of the heart of Jesus Christ by the grace of God and claiming from heaven the flames of God upon our souls. When that takes place, then we shall stand amazed at the action of God in our own and others' lives. -- John G. Lake

The Days of Miracles 12/12 Tuesday Truth

Ministers and churches throughout the land have seen that, although the church has taught that the days of miracles only belonged to the times of the apostles, that statement was a falsehood. They have seen that the healing power of God is as available to the honest ouul today as it was in the days of Christ on the earth. "The gifts and callings of God are without repentance," (Romans 11:29) and Jesus is the Healer still. -- John G. Lake

A New Light 12/11 Monday Meditation

A new light dawned in our souls. The church had diligently taught us that the days of miracles had passed, and believing this, eight members of the family had been permitted to die. But now, with the light of truth flashing in our hearts, we saw that as a lie, no doubt invented by the devil and diligently heralded as truth by the church, thus robbing mankind of its inheritance through the blood of Jesus. -- John G. Lake.

When You Pray 12/8 Friday Faith

Oh, beloved, when you pray, something is happening in you! It is not a myth; it is the action of God. The Almighty God, by the Spirit, comes into your soul, takes possession of your brain, and manifests Himself in the cortex cells of your brain. When you wish and will, either consciously or unconsciously, the fire of God -- the power of God, that life of God, that nature of God -- is transmitted from the cortex cells of your brain and throbs through your nerves down through your person, into every cell of your being -- into every cell of your brain, your blood, your flesh, and your bone -- into every square inch of your skin, until your are alive with God! -- John G. Lake.

What Is a Miracle? 12/7 Thursday Thoughts

What is a miracle? It is the tangible evidence of the supreme control of the Spirit of God over every character and form of materiality. Beloved, the power of such an event, such an act and sign, shows you and me that through living, positive, actual contact with the Spirit of God, all things are possible. Blessed be His name! -- John G. Lake.

A Sadness 12/6 Wednesday Wisdom

It is almost a sadness to my soul that men should be astonished and surprised at an ordinary, tangible evidence of the power of God. -- John G. Lake (Commentary: That is, miracles and answered prayer should be so common that we are not surprised at them. --Lep)

D-o-n'-t or B-e 12/5 Tuesday Truth

Men are afraid to say yes to God. When a young man, I sat in a little meeting one night when the Spirit was talking to my heart. I said, "If I am going to be a Christian, I cannot do this, and I cannot do that." Oh, mighty God, it almost makes my soul vomit in these days to think of the average conception a man has of Christianity. About 90% of so-called Christianity is all spelled with four letters, d-o-n'-t. Don't do this and don't do that... Why, bless God, religion is all contained in two letters, b-e. Not performing acts, but being the thing that God purposed. -- John G. Lake.

The Secret of Christianity 12/4 Monday Meditation

The secret of Christianity is in being. It is in being a possessor of the nature of Jesus Christ. In other words, it is being Christ in character, Christ in demonstration, Christ in agency of transmission. When a person gives himself to the Lord and becomes a child of God, a Christian, he is a Christ-man. All that he does and all that he says from that time forth should be the will and the words and the doings of Jesus, just as absolutely and entirely as He spoke and did the will of the Father. -- John G. Lake.

The Simple Gospel 12/1 Friday Faith

Men have mystified and philosophized the Gospel of Jesus, but the Gospel is as simple as can be. Just as God lived and operated through the body of the man, Jesus, so Jesus, the Man on the throne, operated in and through the Christian, also through His body, the Church, in the world. Just as Jesus was representative of God the Father, so the Church is the representative of Christ. And as Jesus yielded Himself unto all righteousness, so the Church should yield herself to do all the will of God. --John G. Lake

Co-Partner With God, Part 2 11/30 Thursday Thoughts

Just as Jesus Christ was the human body through which the living Spirit was ministered to mankind, so God has arranged that the living Church -- not the dead member, but the living Church, alive with the Spirit of the living God -- should minister that quickening life to another and thereby become a co-partner, a co-laborer together with God. Blessed be His name forever. -- John G. Lake

Tuesday, November 28, 2023

Co-partner 11/29 Wednesday Wisdom

Isn't it a marvelous, wonderful thing that God has ordained an arrangement whereby man becomes God's own co-partner and co-laborer in the ministry of the Spirit? -- John G. Lake

The Ministry of the Spirit 11/28 Tuesday Truth

The ministry of the Christian is the ministry of the Spirit. He not only ministers words to another, but he ministers the Spirit of God. It is the Spirit of God that inhabits the words, that speaks to the spirit of another and reveals Christ in and through him. -- John G. Lake

Abundant Life 11/21 Tuesday Truth

This will be my last post until probably Tuesday, Nov. 28, Happy Thanksgiving! Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). The reason we have the more abundant life is because that, receiving God into our being, all the springs of our being are quickened by His living presence. Consequently, if we are living today and we receive God, we live life in a fuller measure. We live life with a greater energy, because we become the recipients of the energy of the living God in additiion to our normal energy, through the reception of His being, His nature, His life into ours. -- John G. Lake

All That Jesus Was 11/20 Monday Meditation

Tomorrow's post will be the last one until about Tuesday, November 28. Happy Thanksgiving! All that Jesus was to the world He purposed that the Church of Christ should be. First, He blessed the world through His own physical personality. Second, He established a physical body, composed of many members, joined in one by the Spirit of God. When He established the second body, the Church, He never intended that it should be of lesser authority or of lesser power than the first. It was His real purpose that the second body, the Church, should exercise and fully accomplish all that the first had done. -- John G. Lake

Not Worthwhile 11/17 Friday Faith

Tuesday, Nov. 21 will be my last post until probably Tuesday, Nov. 28. Happy Thanksgiving! If you and I had as much faith to believe it [the defeat of Satan] as we have to believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is our Savior, we would have mighty little trouble with the devil or his power while we walk through this world. It is not worthwhile talking about a man [the devil] after he is whipped out. -- John G. Lake

Talking About the Devil 11/16 Thursday Thoughts

I do not spend much time in talking about the devil. The Lord took care of him, bless God. He has the keys of hell and of death, and He has mastered that individual and the condition once and for all. --John G. Lake

The Groaner 11/15 Wednesday Wisdom

I have always wondered how a Christian could be anything less than an optimist. It is a sad thing when you hear Christians with a groan in them. When I meet the groaner I say in my heart, "God, move the man on into the place where he comprehends what Christianity is." The Christian with a groan in him never moved the world except to groan. -- John G. Lake

Holiness and Power 11/14 Tuesday Truth

Not long ago I stood before great audiences of the churchmen of the world. They said, "Through all your ministry there is one note. It is a call for power." They said, "Do you not think it would be better if the Church was calling for holiness instead of power?" And I replied, "She will never obtain the one without the other. There is something larger than holiness. It is the nature of God." -- John G. Lake

Hunger 11/13 Monday Meditation

"Blessed are they that hunger." Bless God! What are we hungering for, a little bit of God? Enough to take us through this old world where we will have the dry rot and be stunted and then squeeze into heaven? "Blessed are they that hunger," for the nature and power and love and understanding of God. Why? "They shall be filled." Bless God!

The Call of the Soul 11/10 Friday Faith

Is there a note of despair in your heart? Have you not attained the thing your soul covets? Have you desired to be like that sinless, unselfish, sickless one? God will answer the call of your soul. You shall have your heart's desire. But before that call becomes answerable it must be the paramount call of your being. It is when it becomes the paramount issue of the soul that the answer comes. Jesus knew. That is the reason He said, "Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled." -- John G. Lake

Everything Else Secondary 11/9 Thursday Thoughts

The spiritual action that takes place within the nature of man, that strong desire for God -- His ways, His love, His knowledge, His power -- causes everything else, perhaps unconsciously to himself, to become secondary. -- John G. Lake

Think Not (#2) 11/8 Wednesday Wisdom

Think not to come within the court of God with stain upon thy garments. Think not that heaven can smile upon a nature fouled through evil contact. Think not that Christ can dwell in temples seared by flames of hate. No! The heart of man must first be purged by holy fire and washed from every stain by cleansing blood. Know ye not that he whose nature is akin to God's must ever feel the purging power of Christ within? -- John G. Lake

Monday, November 6, 2023

Think Not (#1) 11/7 Tuesday Truth

Think not that thou shalt attain the highest in God until within thine own soul a heavenly longing to be like Him who gave His life for us possesses thine heart. -- John G. Lake

Sunday, November 5, 2023

God's Will 11/6 Monday Meditation

It was not in God's will or purpose for man to live in pain, in sorrow, in sickness, and in poverty. But on the other hand it is God's purpose and intent of Jesus that mankind should be redeemed from sin, from sickness, and from death, bless God. -- John G. Lake

Separate Yourself 11/3 Friday Faith

"Prepare ye the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight." You want God to come and bless your own life? Then separate yourself from the superficialities and formalities that have possessed your mind and taken your attention, and come back with directness and simplicity to God and He will bless your soul. -- John G. Lake

Holy Ghost or Smile of the World? 11/2 Thursday Thoughts

This is an appropriate post for All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day. It was that consciousness of God's presence and God's power in the disciples and the Church of the first four centuries that wrote across the pages of history the wonderful, wonderful record of Christianity of the first four hundred years. There were thirty million Christian martyrs, those who were slaughtered in the Christian wars, etc. Thirty million gave up their lives for the Christ. There was a spirit that made it so intense, so powerful, that had such a power of induction that the world got out. Bless God. But there came a day when the Church traded the communion of the Holy Ghost for the smile of the world, and then the long, long night of the middle centuries followed. -- John G. Lake

A Small Matter 11/1 Wednesday Wisdom

I tell you, beloved, that the external evidences of God and the power of His Spirit, no matter how wonderful, are a small matter compared with the consciousness of the Word of God in the human heart, in your heart and mine, bless God. -- John G. Lake

Monday, October 30, 2023

Receive Power 10/31 Tuesday Truth

"Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you." We are entitled to it, bless God. We are glad to see some of it and wish, bless God, that we might see a great deal more. And beloved, I have a splendid conviction in my heart that we will. -- John G. Lake

The Only Prayer That Is Answered 10/30 Monday Meditation

There is only one prayer that is answered. It is not prayer that is answered but is the prayer of faith. It is the prayer of faith that shall save the sick. Believing prayer is not much noise. Believing prayer may not be any noise at all. Believing prayer is a committing, an intelligent committing of yourself to God, and your mind is stayed in God and your heart is staying in God and you are walking in God. You are ready to die rather than go to anyone but God. That is the real believing prayer. That is the continuous prayer. That is prevailing prayer. Blessed be God! -- John G. Lake

Low State of Christian Experience 10/27 Friday Faith

Indeed, I have this in my heart, that the low state of Christian experience that is common among men is mostly accounted for by this one fact, that Christians have failed to grasp the exalted place into which Jesus Christ puts us when we have been made sons of God. -- John G. Lake

Nothing Out of the Ordinary 10/26 Thursday Thoughts

This is one of my all-time favorite quotes: At the tabernacle service Thursday night, it was very sweet service with nothing out of the ordinary. Mrs. Arlow of Whurter, instantly healed of violent internal inflammation. -- John G. Lake [In how many of our churches today could it be said that an instantaneous dramatic healing is "nothing out of the ordinary"? -Lep ]

The Common Conception 10/25 Wednesday Wisdom

Indeed, beloved, I have felt, and I feel today, that the world has never had a proper comprehension of the Lord Jesus Christ. We all realize the common conception of the Christ as it has been presented to us by the Church at large. And I want to say with all frankness that while in a large measure that conception of the church largely is true, yet it is ten thousand miles below the real standard of God's conception of presentation of the Christ as I see it in the Word of God and as the Spirit of God has made my own consciousness aware of. -- John G. Lake

Holy Ghost Today 10/24 Tuesday Truth

And now, beloved, is the Holy Ghost in the Church today? Verily, yes. But you say, "We don't see Him work in this way in our church!" Why? Because you say, "All these things were for apostolic days." Can you find anywhere in the Scriptures that the gifts of the Holy Ghost were withdrawn from the Church of Christ? There is no biblical authority for such an assertion, but rather we read, "The gifts and calling of God are without repentance" (Romans 11:29). -- John G. Lake

Introducing John G. Lake 10/23 Monday Meditation

I'm beginning a new series of quotes by John G. Lake. I had posted his quotes two or three years ago. John G. Lake (1870-1935) was a well-known healing evangelist in South Africa and the State of Washington, U.S. After 8 of his 16 siblings died in childhood, Lake began to study the doctrine of healing, which became his ministry focus. O, I praise God for the discovery of the gifts of the Holy Ghost and especially for the gift of healing. May we all learn to know Christ, not only as our Savior, but as our Sanctifier and Healer too. -- John G. Lake

Are You a Channel? 10/20 Friday Faith

This is the final quote from Frank Bartleman's book, Azusa Street. And a very fitting final quote it is! I may not be able to post on Monday and Tuesday. Before closing may I ask, Is your life making an impact where God has put you? Are you a channel through which the rivers of living water are flowing day by day? If the answer is "No," are you willing for it to become true? Are you prepared to get on your knees and say, "Lord, whatever it may involve, make my life a channel for those rivers of living water? -- Frank Bartleman

One Significant Difference 10/19 Thursday Thoughts

One significant difference between the early church and the church today is this: they believed in the Holy Spirit while we are afraid of the Holy Spirit; they knew the Holy Spirit experientially while we so often know Him only theologically and theoretically. Will we at least let Him have His way? This is the pathway to revival. -- Frank Bartleman

The Church Would Crack 10/18 Wednesday Wisdom

It is certain that at present we could not stand bitter or prolonged persecution. The church today would crack. It is only a revived, strong church that could be entrusted to withstand this fiery ordeal. Let us not hoodwink ourselves by thinking that it will never come to us -- many of God's saints are going through it right now in countries under totalitarian rule. -- Frank Bartleman (written about a century ago)

What Does the Future Hold? 10/17 Tuesday Truth

What does the future hold? We know it holds the blessed hope and glorious consummation of the age and the return of the Savior from heaven. But before that, the church should be prepared for two things: revival and persecutiion. As in apostolic times these two went together, so surely it will be in these end times. And to the prayerful and watchful, there are significant signs that both are on the way. -- Frank Bartleman

Don't Miss God 10/16 Monday Meditation

Beloved, who are we to tell the Almighty how He should do His work? The sovereign Lord works as He will. Of course we must test the spirits. Of course we will want to be sure that what comes is truly from heaven... Oh, let us have an open mind lest we be among those who cling to tradition and miss God. -- Frank Bartleman

Ready for Revival? 10/13 Friday Faith

What we see in the New Testament is surely available to us. But are we open for it? We may be interested in revival. We may believe that revival is the only hope of the church today. We may even be praying for it. But are we ready for what God may be about to do? -- Frank Bartleman

The Church Must Return 10/12 Thursday Thoughts

A sectarian, competitive, selfish, self-seeking church cannot survive. The church must return to the spirit of the early church in the book of Acts. She must yield to God and press into His "present truth" (2 Peter 1:12) for this last hour -- or perish in the fires of persecution and in her own blood. -- Frank Bartleman

Through the Fire 10/11 Wednesday Wisdom

We are rapidly approaching the last days. I am convinced that God is going to put the church through the fire to destroy the dross. Judgment begins at the house of God (1 Peter 4:17). And, believe me, nothing but 100 percent reality will remain! A theoretical salvation will not do. -- Frank Bartleman

The Rain Is Ready 10/10 Tuesday Truth

"I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground" (Isaiah 44:2). Dryness is a condition that invites rain. At such times men cry for rain. It is a cause for encouragement when we thirst for God. "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst... for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6). It was after an awful drought that Elijah's rain came. The rain is ready, beloved -- when we want it, and when we are in a condition to receive it. -- Frank Bartleman

Where Is the Life? 10/9 Monday Meditation

Most meetings can only be kept alive now by continuous entertainment, professional evangelism, and a strong social spirit. And this is all too true in [evangelical] circles as well as in the older denominations. Where is the Life itself to draw the people and bring God to them as in the beginning? This is not New Testament. It is abnormal, grieving and limiting the Holy One of Israel in our midst. -- Frank Bartleman

Substitutes for the Spirit 10/6 Friday Faith

The exterior shell of every movement with which it loads itself and in which it later becomes buried, falls to lusting for "flesh". One can usually judge the progress of this process by the things the movement comes to demand. Instead of delight in the pure Word, prayer and worship, a love for souls, and zeal for good works, there come entertainment, programs, musicals, sensationalism, and oratory. These things have no place in essential, true Christianity, but are professionalism -- flesh! O God, deliver us from fleshly substitutes for the Spirit. -- Frank Bartleman

Keep Our Eyes on God 10/5 Thursday Thoughts

We must keep our eyes on God, not on a party [a religious faction]. Keep free from a party spirit [focusing on division]. That is indicitive of a respect of persons. Seek only God and His plan as a whole, His church as a whole. -- Frank Bartleman

We Tie God's Hands 10/4 Wednesday Wisdom

"Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever" (Hebrews 13:8)! God never changes. We have changed. We are not waiting for God. God is waiting for us... God can only work when we are willing, yielded, and obedient. We tie God's hands. -- Frank Bartleman Thank you to all who prayed for my cataract surgery. It went very well. I have the other eye done next Tuesday.

The Fire of God 10/3 Tuesday Truth

No sacrifice on the altar means no fire. The fire of God never falls on an empty altar. The greater the sacrifice, the more the fire. -- Frank Bartleman Postings may be hit-or-miss the middle of this week and next, as I will be having cataract surgery.

All for God 10/2 Monday Meditation

The early church came forth from the Upper Room fresh in her "first love" (Revelation 2:4), baptized with the Holy Spirit, filled with God, possessing both the graces and gifts of the Spirit, and with a 100 percent consecration for God. This was the secret of her power. She was all for God, and God was all for her. This principle will apply in all ages, both individually and collectively. -- Frank Bartleman Postings may be hit-or-miss the middle of this week and next, as I will be having cataract surgery.

To Pay the Full Price 9/29 Friday Faith

The human soul is ever lazy toward God, and no one generation has seemed to be able to travel very far on its way back to God and His standard from which the early church fell. It is true that human error or understanding continually satisfies itself with a part instead of the whole, but the real fact is that men are not willing to pay the full price to come back fully to God's standard, to be all the Lord's. -- Frank Bartleman.

God's Church Is One 9/28 Thursday Thoughts

We belong to the whole body of Christ, both in heaven and on earth. God's church is one. It is a terrible thing to go about dismembering the body of Christ. How foolish and wicked the petty differences between Christians will appear in the light of eternity. Christ is the "issue", not some doctrine about Him. The Gospel leads to Him. It exalts Christ, not some particular doctrine. To know Christ is the alpha and the omega of the Christian faith and practice. -- Frank Bartleman

How These Christians Love 9/27 Wednesday Wisdom

As we look upon the church divided, upon the sect-ridden multitude, none of whom can see alike, how our tried souls cry out for that original love. And we will never win the world on any other plane. It was said of the early Christians, by the heathen themselves, "Behold how these Christians love one another!" -- Frank Bartleman

The People Whom God Will Use 9/26 Tuesday Truth

Let God's people everywhere begin to seek in deep, true humility. Then He will reveal Himself and His plan to them. One man with the real power of God upon him can do more than a thousand who go on their own account. Only those who are true and loyal to God and His present-day message will share in this great victory. The people who really humble themselves and stand the test, God will use to do His work. -- Frank Bartleman.

The Call of God 9/25 Monday Meditation

The call of God to His people now is to humble themselves, to recognize their weakness and lack of power, to get down before Him and wait till His power is restored. The great question is, Will men see the plan of God and yield to it? Will men get down in humility at Jesus' feet and pray and wait till He restores His full Pentecostal power? Or will they continue to run ahead of Him and fail in the end? -- Frank Bartleman

Small Enough 9/22 Friday Faith

Shortly after God filled me, His Spirit rested mightily upon me one morning, and He said to me, "If you were only small enough, I could do anything with you." A great desire to be little, yea, to be nothing, came into my heart. But it has been oh so hard to keep low enough for Him to really work through me. And He only really uses me when I am little in my own eyes and really humble at His feet. When I feel that I must do something, He always lets me fail. But when I stay at His feet and feel that I am nothing, and He is all, and so just trust Him, He does His work in such a beautiful way that it is wonderful to me. -- Frank Bartleman

Be Eager to Pray 9/21 Thursday Thoughts

In the early Azusa [Revival] days, you could hardly keep the saints off their knees. Whenever two believers met, they invariably went to prayer. Today we can harldy be dragged to prayer. Some make as much fuss about it as the old camel does in the East in kneeling to receive his load. He fusses and bites and groans before the driver can bring him down. -- Frank Bartleman.

Nothing Above Jesus 9/20 Wednesday Wisdom

Everything centers around Jesus. We may not put the power, gifts, the Holy Spirit, or in fact anything ahead of Jesus. Any mission that exalts even the Holy Spirit above the Lord Jesus Christ is bound for the rocks of error and fanaticism. -- Frank Bartleman.

We Wanted God 9/19 Tuesday Truth

(Regarding the Azusa Revival): The Lord worked very deeply. Several were under the power [of the Spirit] all night on one occasion. There was no closing at 9 o'clock sharp, as the preachers must do in order to keep the people. We wanted God in those days. We did not have a thousand other things we wanted before Him. And He did not disappoint us. -- Frank Bartleman

Hindrance to the Work of God 9/18 Monday Meditation

Welcome to the new readers! I notice that the counter of actual readers has jumped in the last week. I focus on quotes from "Pentecostal Pioneers" who are seldom read today. I post Monday through Friday except vacations and holidays. I have been doing this since 2005 on Blogger, several sites on Facebook and on gab.com, and in an email group. The natural strength and ability of man are always the greatest hindrance to the work of God, and to God's working. -- Frank Bartleman

God Requires of Everyone 9/15 Friday Faith

Is the church working, with all her resources, for this one purpose and to this one end? That certainly does not mean the selfish heaping up of property and riches, more than we really need. It does not mean getting all we want for ourselves and then tossing the Lord a dollar we do not need. . . . God requires of everyone exactly the same consecration. -- Frank Bartleman.

100% Consecration 9/14 Thursday Thoughts

All believers are called to a 100 percent consecration. God doesn't have two standards of consecration -- one for the foreign missionary, and another for the Christian at home. We cannot find it in the Bible. One is called to consecrate his all as well as the other, as God's stewards in their own places and callings. -- Frank Bartleman.

What Pentecost Meant 9/12 Tuesday Truth

Pentecost meant the dying out to the self-life, carnal ambition, pride, and so on. It meant for them to enter into the "fellowship of his sufferings" (Philippians 3:10), not simply to have a popular, good time. -- Frank Bartleman

The Greatest Religious Need 9/11 Monday Meditation

The greatest religious need of our day would seem to be that of true followers of the meek and lowly Jesus. Religious enthusiasm easily goes to seed. The human spirit so predominates the show-off, religious spirit. But we must stick to our text -- Christ. He alone can save. The attention of the people must be first of all, and always, held to Him. A true Pentecost will produce a mighty conviction for sin, a turning to God. -- Frank Bartleman

Jesus Is the Center 9/8 Friday Faith

Jesus will always be the center of our preaching. All comes through and in Him. The Holy Spirit is given to show the things of Christ. (See John 16:14.) The work of Calvary, the Atonement, must be the center of our consideration. The Holy Spirit never draws our attention from Christ to Himself, but rather reveals Christ in a fuller way. -- Frank Bartleman

Self-Satisfaction 9/7 Thursday Thoughts

Without a doubt, even the least self-satisfaction in one's religious service is a great hindrance to the blessing and favor of God. It must be shunned as we would a serpent. -- Frank Bartleman

Tuesday, September 5, 2023

Intellectual Knowledge 9/6 Wednesday Wisdom

The greater part of most Christians' knowledge of God is and has always been, since the loss of the Spirit by the early church, an intellectual knowledge. Their knowledge of the Word and principles of God is an intellectual one, through natural reasoning and understanding largely. They have little revelation, illumination, or inspiration directly from the Spirit of God. -- Frank Bartleman

Fully Yielded 9/5 Tuesday Truth

Oh, the thrill of being fully yielded to Him! . . . Nothing hinders faith and the operation of the Spirit so much as the self-assertiveness of the human soul, the wisdom, strength, and self-sufficiency of the human mind. This must all be crucified, and here is where the fight comes in. We must become utterly undone, insufficient, and helpless in our own consciousness, thoroughly humbled, before we can receive full posssession of the Holy Spirit. We want the Holy Spirit, but the fact is that He is wanting possession of us. -- Frank Bartleman

The Power of God at the Azusa Revival 9/4 Monday Meditation

Such a divine "weight of glory" (2 Corinthians 4:17) was upon us that we could only lie on our faces. For a long time we could hardly even remain seated. All would be on their faces on the floor, sometimes during the whole service. I was seldom able to keep from lying full-length on the floor on my face... They were His meetings. Every night the power of God was mightily with us. It was glorious! The Lord seemed almost visible, He was so real. -- Frank Bartleman

Only We Have Changed 9/1 Friday Faith

The meetings [the Azusa Revival, 1906-1909] were controlled by the Spirit, from the throne. Those were truly wonderful days. I often said that I would rather live six months at that time than fifty years of ordinary life. But God is just the same today. Only we have changed. -- Frank Bartleman

The Road of Apostasy 8/30 Thursday Thoughts

The apostasy of the early church came as a result of a greater desire to see the spread of its power and rule than to see new natures given to its individual members. The moment we covet a large following and rejoice in the crowd that is attracted by our presentation of what we consider truth, and have not a greater desire to see the natures of individuals changed according to the divine plan, we start to travel the same road of apostasy. -- Frank Bartleman

We Must Have the Revival 8/29 Tuesday Truth

John Wesley himself once prayed, after the revival had about died out for the time, "Oh, Lord, send us the old revival, wihtout the defects; but if this cannot be, send it with all its defects. We must have the revival!" -- Frank Bartleman

Only Through Prayer 8/28 Monday Meditation

Human organizations and human programs leave very little room for the free Spirit of God. ... The prayer life is needed much more than buildings or organizations. These are often a substitute for the other. Souls are born into the kingdom only through prayer. -- Frank Bartleman

Faith for Better Things 8/25 Friday Faith

When we began to pray in the spring of 1905, no one seemed to have much faith for anything out of the ordinary. Pessimism in regard to the then-present conditions seemed to be felt generally among the saints. But this attitude had changed. God Himself had given us faith for better things. There had been nothing in sight to stimulate us to this. It came from nothing. And can He not do the same today? -- Frank Bartleman

The Depth of Revival 8/24 Thursday Thoughts

The depth of revival will be determined exactly by the depth of the spirit of repentance. -- Frank Bartleman

Easier to Criticize 8/23 Wednesday Wisdom

I found most Christians did not want to take on a burden of prayer. It was too hard on the flesh. I was carrying this burden now in ever increasing volume, night and day. The ministry was intense... Most believers find it easier to criticize than to pray. -- Frank Bartleman

Live in Fellowship with God 8/22 Tuesday Truth

New Series --- Frank Bartleman 8/21 Monday Meditation

Today I begin a new series of quotes from Frank Bartleman's classic book, Azusa Street. I last quoted him in 2020. Bartleman was the historian of the Azusa Revival, which started in Los Angeles in 1906-1909, and marked the start of the worldwide Pentecostal movement. Some churches are going to be surprised to find God passing them by. He will work in channels where they will yield to Him. They must humble themselves to Him to come... Some people are too well satisfied with their own goodness. They have little faith or interest for the salvation of others. God will humble them by passing them by. The Spirit is breathing prayer through us for a mighty, general outpouring. Great things are coming... The Lord will visit those willing to yield to Him. -- Frank Bartleman

Fortunes in Our Bibles 8/18 Friday Faith

A NEW SERIES begins on Monday. "Many of us have fortunes in our Bibles without knowing it, or without using our infinite resources. The Holy Spirit is given to us to be used for every sort of need; and yet, with all the power of heaven at our call, many of us are going about in starvation, simply because we do not know our treasure, and do not use our redemption rights." -- A. B. Simpson

I Am With You 8/17 Thursday Thoughts

I've been posting miscellaneous quotes for two weeks. Get ready for a NEW SERIES starting Monday. Christ did not say, "I will be with you alway." That would have suggested a break. He said, "I am" -- an unchanging now, a presence never withdrawn, a love, a nearness, a power to heal and save as constant and as free as ever, even unto the end of the world. "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." (Hebrews 13:8) -A. B. Simpson

Not Apologizing 8/16 Wednesday Wisdom

Overflowing All the Time 8/15 Tuesday Truth

We Have a Big God 8/14 Monday Meditation

So many people have nervous trouble. I'll tell you how to get rid of your nervous trouble. I have something in my bag, one dose of which will cure you. "... I am the Lord that healeth thee" (Exodus 15:26). How this wonderful Word of God changes the situation. "...Perfect love casteth out fear..." (I John 4:18). "There is no fear in love..." (v. 18). I have tested that so often, casting out the whole condition of fear and the whole situation has been changed. We have a big God, only He has to be absolutely and only trusted. --Smith Wigglesworth

Whatever We Do For Jesus 8/11 Friday Faith

God has left the glorious work of saving souls in the hands of the church. What is the church composed of? Men, women, and children. We are putting up a building of God. Everyone has a part in this building; if we cannot be a pillar or cornerstone, let us be a spike or a nail or a brick; let us not despise the day of small things. Whatever we do for Jesus, with the right motive, is precious in His sight. -- Maria Woodworth-Etter

Every Day Advancing 8/10 Thursday Thoughts

Don't forget that every day must be a day of advancement. If you have not made any advancement since yesterday, in a measure you are a backslider. There is only one way for you between Calvary and the glory, and it is forward. It is every day forward. It is no day back. it is advancement with God. It is cooperation with Him in the Spirit. -- Smith Wigglesworth

The Shortest Route 8/9 Wednesday Wisdom

Nothing Out of the Ordinary 8/8 Tuesday Truth

December 8, 1910 ... At the tabernacle service Thursday night, it was a very sweet service with nothing out of the ordinary. How little the power in today's church, by comparison.

God, Limited 8/7 Monday Meditation

I have completed the quotations from E.W. Kenyon's Advanced Bible Studies. I am going to return to some old favorites for a few days or weeks until I start quoting from another Pentecostal Pioneer. Have you been to Canada? Do you know when I went to Canada for the first time there was one thing that struck me peculiarly? The signs would read, "John Brown, Ltd." ... I was holding meetings in the old St. Andrews Church in Sidney. I asked them one night why they did not put their national symbol on their churches. They wondered what I meant. I said, "Every other business house is 'Ltd.' Why don't you put it over the church?" And old Scotchman said, "We don't have to . Everybody knows it." Limited? Sure it is limited. Limit God, limit ourselves, limit His grace, limit the Word. Sure, our God is a little bit of a God. Most of us could carry Him in our vest pocket and it wouldn't budge the pocket -- our God with the "Ltd." on Him. Brother, sister, that challenge comes to us today to LET GOD LOOSE. -- John G. Lake

He and His Word Are One 8/4 Friday Faith

We must realize that He and His Word are one; that man's word is a dying word; and that God's Word is a living, abiding Word. The most cultured and beautiful sermon is dead as soon as it is given unless it is filled with the Word. -- E.W. Kenyon.

I Am and I Can 8/3 Thursday Thoughts

Just as Jesus dared to say, "I am the vine, and ye are the branches"; or, "I am the light of this world"; you say, "I am what He says I am." More than even that, you can say, "I can do what He says I can do." Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things in him who strengtheneth me." -- E.W. Kenyon.

Face Your Enemy Without Fear 8/2 Wednesday Wisdom

You were crucified with Him. You were buried with Him. You were raised with Him. You conquered the enemy with Him. Now, with faith planted solidly upon this foundation, you face your enemy without fear. You dare to say, "I am the righetousness of God in Christ." -- E. W. Kenyon

Old Things Passed Away 6/1 Tuesday Truth

"The old things have passed away." What are the old things? They are failure, weakness, fear, a sense of unworthiness. They have stopped being. What are you? You are a branch of Christ. You are a part of Christ just as the branch is a part of the vine. You are a part of Christ, and Christ is God. (John 15:5) The same wonderful characteristics that were manifested in the earth walk of Jesus now can be manifested in you. -- E.W. Kenyon

You Are His and He Is Yours 7/31 Monday Meditation

"Now in all these things we are more than conquerors" (Romans 8:37), and we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. There is no earthly power or demoniacal [demonic] power that can separate us from the Father love that was in Jesus. You are His own, and He is yours. -- E.W. Kenyon

A Third Favorite Classic Quote 7/28 Friday Faith

The reason the world is not seeing Jesus is because Christian people are not filled with Jesus. They are satisfied with weekly meetings and occasionally reading the Bible, and sometimes praying. Beloved, it God has hold of you by the Spirit, you will find that there is an end of everything and a beginning of God, so that your whole body becomes seasoned with a divine likeness of God. -- Smith Wigglesworth

Another Favorite 7/27 Thursday Thoughts

The only way you can fail is if you stop praying. In a world full of uncertainties and unpredictability you have to trust God. The world has become more of a polyglot, more confused. Prayer is the only way out of your troubles.Get into a position [habit] of prayer. -- John G. Lake

My All-Time Favorite Quote 7/26 Wednesday Wisdom

For a few days I'm going to repeat some favorite quotes from the past, as I do on occasion. This is my all-time favorite. God has privileged us in Christ Jesus to live above the ordinary human plane of life. Those who want to be ordinary, and live on a lower plane, can do so; but as for me, I will not! For the same unction, the same zeal, the same Holy Ghost power is at our command as was at the command of Stephen and the apostles. We have the same God that Abraham had, that Elijah had, and we need not come behind in any gift or grace. -- Smith Wigglesworth

Come Boldly 7/21 Friday Faith

I WILL NOT BE POSTING ON MONDAY OR TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. Can't you see what it means to have a High Priest, a Mediator, an Intercessor, an Advocate, and a Lover in the highest seat of authority in the universe? He ever lives to make intercession for you. Now He bids you to come boldly to the throne of grace. That means that you are to come into His presence with your needs. You are in the throne room, and the Father that loved you and gave His Son up for you is on the throne. The Man who loved you and gave Himself up for you is seated by His side, there to love you. . . . Can't you see what it can mean to you to come into a throne room under such conditions? There is your Advocate. There is your Savior. There is your Lord on your side. Can't you hear Him say, "How will He not with Him freely give you all things?" -- E.W. Kenyon

He Remains Faithful 7/20 Thursday Thoughts

The Father's love is manifest in the intercessory work of His Son. He is not only our High Priest and Savior and Mediator, but whenever we sin and our fellowship is broken, we have Someone at the right hand of the Father Who ever remains faithful. I John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." -- E.W. Kenyon

Tuesday, July 18, 2023

His Intercession 7/19 Wednesday Wisdom

His ministry of intercession is little appreciated by the believer. In every temptation, in every trial,, and at every hard place, Jesus ever lives to pray for us. That is the reason for our victory. Paul says in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me." -- E.W. Kenyon.

Monday, July 17, 2023

Mediator and Intercessor 7/17 Tuesday Truth

Man not only needs a Mediator, but after he becomes a Christian, he is living in a world dominated by Satan and needs an Intercessor, someone who will pray for him, whose prayers are always heard. Hebrews 7:25, "Wherefore also he is able to save to the uttermost them that draw near unto God through him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." -- E.W. Kenyon.

Exercise in the Word 7/17 Monday Meditation

If you like these quotes from the early "Pentecostal Pioneers", you might want to join the following Facebook groups for more quotes and revival history: Smith Wigglesworth, Maria Woodworth-Etter, John Graham Lake, Jesus Saves TV. Paul wanted Christ to be magnified in his body through the things he did and said. [Philippians 1:20] He wanted Jesus to be magnified, made attractive, so that men would want Him. This can only come as we exercise ourselves in the Word. -- E.W. Kenyon

God-Minded 7/14 Friday Faith

Our spirits can be so developed, so strengthened, that we will become God-minded, Word-minded. In the morning our minds unconsciously go to Him for guidance and wisdom for the day. We have exercised ourselves in the Word until our whole being is saturated with it.. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Wednesday, July 12, 2023

Doing the Word 7/13 Thursday Thoughts

Committing the Word to memory does not do it; learning the history of the books of the Bible does not do it; learning the Hebrew and the Greek words will not do it. Only one thing will do: my doing the Word, practicing it, living it in my daily life, trusting in it, acting on it. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Feeding on the Word 7/12 Wednesday Wisdom

Just as we have exercised ourselves physically to build up muscle, as we have exercised mentally to build up memory and store our minds with facts and data, so we now should build up our Love life, build up our wisdom life, build up our creative energy. How? By feeding on the Word of God. The Word is God's wisdom, God's ability, God's very Life. As I feed on it, it cultivates, strengthens, and builds up my spirit. It builds faith into me. It builds God's ability into me. It builds into me every attractive thing that you saw in Jesus's life. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Sons of God 7/11 Tuesday Truth

We are the sons of God. I John 3:2, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God. John 1:13, "Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." This should forever settle the question of whether there is anything that an unsaved man can do to give to himself the New Birth outside of his acceptance of Christ as his Saviour and Lord. -- E. W. Kenyon.

His Workmanship 7/10 Monday Meditation

Ephesians 2:10, "We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus." When you know that you have been recreated by God Himself, you know that the work is satisfactory to the Author of the work. It gives you a real foundation for faith. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Christianity Is . . . 7/7 Friday Faith

Christianity is a relationship between the Father and His Family. It is not a religion. It is not having your sins forgiven. It is not joining the church. It is being made a New Creation in Christ; it is being born from above. It is receiving the Nature and Life of God. It is being united with Christ. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Our Reasoning Faculties 7/6 Wednesday Wisdom

We ought to understand that the Father does not reveal Himself to our reasoning faculties but to our spirits. Our reasoning faculties can only apprehend the things that the five senses convey to them. Outside of that, the reasoning faculties are unfruitful. When our spirits are recreated they receive Eternal Life. We can know the Father. We can enjoy fellowship with Him through His Word. We have become so utterly identified with Him, so utterly one with Him, that the "vine and the branch" is the only suitable illustration of this new and beautiful relationship. -- E.W. Kenyon.

His Ability Is Our Ability 7/4 Tuesday Truth

I WILL NOT BE POSTING FOR JULY 5. Ephesians 1:19-23, "And what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places." That ability is our ability. That ability is the Spirit's, who dwells within you, and in the Name that He has given us to use in our daily conflict with the enemy. -- E.W. Kenyon.

You Are an Overcomer 6/30 Friday Faith

Now 1 John 4:4 is yours: "Ye are of God, my little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world." You always remember that you are of God, and you remember that you are an overcomer. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Enter His Rest 6/29 Thursday Thoughts

He called us into fellowship with His Son. The Son is in His rest. He has rested from His work that He wrought for us in our Redemption. We have entered into that rest without works. We didn't have to do anything, so we are resting now in His rest. We are quiet with His quietness. We are fellowshipping Him. We have linked arms, as it were, with Him. He is our Protection. He is the Strength of our lives. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Formula for Victory 6/27 Wednesday Wisdom

Every burden has been put over on the Master. You have come to recognize in Jesus and in the Father your perfect strength, your perfect rest, the place where nothing can disturb you. Philippians 4:6, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thought in Christ Jesus." In nothing be fearful or anxious. Every anxiety has been committed to Him. This is God's formula for a life of victory. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Monday, June 26, 2023

The Rest of Redemtion 6/27 Tuesday Truth

The third great word is rest; the rest of Redemption is the thing which every believer should know and enjoy . . . What kind of rest is it? It is not the rest of one who is climbing a hill with a heavy load, and then sits down for a moment and holds the load in his arms. It is the rest of one who has no burden, who has cast every burden upon the Lord. I Peter 5:7, "Casting all your anxiety upon him because he careth for you." -- E. W. Kenyon.

The Power of the Church 6/26 Monday Meditation

The conquering power of the Church is not knowledge of the miraculous, but joy. A joyful congregation is an attracive congregation. A joyful believer is attractive. Peter says in 1 Peter 1:8, "Whom having not seen ye love; on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory." -- E. W. Kenyon

Thursday, June 22, 2023

Joy 6/23 Friday Faith

Joy is something that only believers have. The world may have happiness. They find that in their surroundings, their environment. But joy is a fruit of faith. It is a fruit that comes from the recreated spirit . . . The believer should never allow anything to rob him of his joy. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Fruit of Full-Grown Faith 6/22 Thursday Thoughts

There are three great words that describe the condition of the believer who is taking advantage of his privileges in Christ -- rest, peace, and joy. These three words are the fruit of full-grown faith. John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful." -- E. W. Kenyon.

Nothing Can Separate 6/21 Wednesday Wisdom

Romans 8:38-39 will help our hearts just now. This is the climax of His great redemption teaching: "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." He enumerates everything that can come to a man or a woman, every calamity that can possibly come in our earth walk, and tells us that none can separate us from the love of our Father. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Missing the Mark 6/20 Tuesday Truth

"And the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin." (1 John 1:7) That is effective as long as were are in fellowship. The correct meaning of the word "sin" is "missing the mark." As long as I am in fellowship with Him, I may miss the mark again and again, but His blood avails for me.

Broken Fellowship 6/19 Monday Meditation

Fellowship can be broken because I willfully fail to do His will. I step out of light into darkness. I stop practicing love, and when I do that, I step over into darkness, want -- into Satan'sterritory. I am filled with restlessness. Joy is gone. My fellowship with the Father is gone. If I say that I have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, I lie and do not the truth. "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with another (and with the Father) and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin." (1 John 1:7) -- E. W. Kenyon.

Forgive and Forget 6/16 Friday Faith

I look up to the Father and say, "Father, forgive me for doing that thing." And the moment I do, He forgives me. It is wiped out as though it had never been. That instant that I confess it and tell the Father of it, Jesus says, "Lay that to My account." Notice that the Father has no memory of our past mistakes and failures. You must forget them too. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Joy and Fellowship 6/15 Thursday Thoughts

What does joy grow out of? What is the secret? I Corinthians 1:9, "God is faithful, through whom ye were called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord." Fellowship is the secret, is the thing that gives joy. When this fellowship is broken, the joy dies. -- E.W. Kenyon.

The Secret of Christianity 6/14 Wednesday Wisdom

One day I saw that the secret of Christianity, the secret of evangelism, was that we were to have joy in our spirits. You remember Acts 13:52, "And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit." I Peter 1:8 tells us that it is joy unspeakable and full of glory. That didn't mean much to me until the Spirit unveiled it to me. Then I saw the secret of this new thing that was to come with the New Creation. "My joy I give unto you." This is somethng that the world can't take away from me. It is something indescribable that fills our spirit. -- E.W. Kenyon.

The Secret of Joy 6/13 Tuesday Truth

...You may never have learned the secret of joy. You say, "What do you mean by joy?" John 15:10,11, "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love." Then we see in the ninth verse another secret, "Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide in my love." We are to walk in love and live love, and to keep His commandments. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Changing Realms 6/12 Monday Meditation

God's Nature is Life. Its first manifestations are Love, Joy, and Peace. Satan's nature is spiritual death. Its first manifestations are hatred, murder and deceit. His whole realm is called darkness. Colossians 1:12, "Who delivered us out of the power (authority) of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love." Notice the contrast. You have come out of the realm of Satan (spiritual death, hatred, and murder) into the realm of Life, of Light and Joy.

To Know Him 6/9 Friday Faith

Then I want to know Him. I want to please Him. I want to make His heart glad as that first Son did. What a beautiful life it is. It is not struggling to be righteous. It is just struggling to make His heart glad. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Your Relationship 6/8 Thursday Thoughts

This is your relationship as a child of God. You are in the Father, and the Father is in you. That is, He has imparted His Life to you. His very Nature has been given to you. You are as much His child as Jesus was. When your heart can take this in, He will become more to you, and you will realize something of what you are to Him. -- E.W. Kenyon.

The Father's Heart 6/7 Wednesday Wisdom

The Jews called Him God, and Jesus called Him Father. The Church today calls Him God. How few ever intellegently call Him Father. How lonesome He must be. He is a Father God with a Father heart, and His people call Him God -- just "Mr. God," like they should speak of a neighbor. Let us learn the secret of His Father heart. -- E.W. Kenyon.

The Strength and Ability of God 6/6 Tuesday Truth

II Corinthians 2:14, "Thanks be unto God who always leadeth me in triumph in Christ." That should be the song on the lips of every believer. There isn't any reason for your being a weakling. The strength and ability of God are yours. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Above Par All the Time 6/5 Monday Meditation

Facebook showed me this quote from six years ago. I thought I would rerun it today. "Yes, there is a power, a blessing, an assurance, a rest in the presence of the Holy Ghost. You can feel His presence and know that He is with you. You need not spend an hour without this inner knowledge of His holy presence. With His power upon you there can be no failure. You are above par all the time." --Smith Wigglesworth

The Love Nature 6/2 Friday Faith

You see, when you receive Eternal Life you receive the Nature of the Father; and the Father is Love. You receive the Love Nature. Now you let that Love Nature dominate and rule you. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Wednesday, May 31, 2023

His Ability Is Your Ability 6/1 Thursday Thoughts

You are conscious of the reality of the Word. He can't fail you. He is with you in the written Word; He is with you in the Name of Jesus; He is with you in the Presence of the Holy Spirit. That sufficiency of God is your sufficiency. His ability s your ability. -- E.W. Kenyon.

When a Crisis Will Come 5/31 Wednesday Wisdom

How long have you been a Christian? How long have you had Eternal Life? Directly after you received Eternal Life you should have begun a careful study of the Word, for you never can tell when a crisis will come and you will desperately need faith in the Word. You also need the Word every day. You need that quiet, restful spirit. -- E. W. Kenyon

He and His Word Are One 5/30 Tuesday Truth

We have substituted Sense evidence for the Word. We have substituted education and organization for the Word. They are all of them failures. The Word in the lips of faith, filled with love, filled with the very life of God, has as great authority and ability as it ever had in the history of the Church. We must realize that He and His Word are one; that man's word is a dying word; and that God's Word is a living, abiding Word. The most cultured and beautiful sermon is dead as soon as it is given unless it is filled with the Word. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Sunday, May 28, 2023

Filled With the Word 5/29 Monday Meditation

The Church will never exercise the Divine authority that belongs to it until the Word becomes a part of our daily lives... This Word should govern us today. Our lips should be filled with it. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Thursday, May 25, 2023

God Is a Faith God 5/26 Friday Faith

God is Love and God is Light; but God is also a Faith God; so when He gives us His Nature in the New Birth, there comes with that a measure of Faith to every one of us. However, that Life has to dominate us. It has to be sustained and fed with the Word; and as we act on the Word and live in the Word, Faith grows in us. -- E. W. Kenyon.

The Place of the Word 5/25 Thursday Thoughts

Acts 2:41, "They then that received the Word were baptized: and there were added unto them in that day about three thousand souls." This is unique. They that received the Word -- not the doctrines, nor the teachings, nor a creed -- but the Logos [Word]. Acts 4:4, "But many of them that heard the Word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand." It doesn't say that they heard the apostles, but that they heard the Word. Acts 6:2, "And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them and said, It is not fit that we should forsake the Word of God, and serve tables." How early they learned the place of the Word! Acts 6:4, "But we will continue steadfastly in prayer, and in the ministry of the Word." These were untaught men, fishermen. The Spirit had unveiled to them the place and dignity of the Word. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Jesus' Thoughts on Good Friday 5/24 Wednesday Wisdom

I never could get it clear in my heart how Jesus could love the man who was putting the lash upon His back, or how He could love the man, and die for him, who put the nails through the palms of His hands and feet; but I imagine that if you had been back there near the sepulchre when Jesus arose from the dead, you would have heard Him say, "Where is the man who plaited the crown of thorns and placed them upon my brow? I want to tell him that I died for him, that I suffered the torments of the damned for him." -- E.W. Kenyon.

You Are a Part of HIm 5/23 Tuesday Truth

John 15:5, "I am the vine and ye are the branches." No one can touch a branch without hurting the vine. The vine and the branch are one. You are a part of Him, and He is a part of you. He is taking care of you. You are established in the truth. ... Philippians 4:19, "And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." ... You are laboring together with Him. You are partners. You are fellowshipping each other. You are sharing with Him; He is sharing with you. What a wonderful life it is! -- E.W. Kenyon.

Sunday, May 21, 2023

Established in the Word 5/22 Monday Meditation

Every believer should know what the Name of Jesus can mean to him in his daily life, so that no matter what happens, he is a victor, a conqueror (John 16:24). "In my name ye shall cast out demons" (Mark 16:17-20). ... Every believer should be established in this truth. So many are established in weakness; they live under the shadow of it. Others are established in sickness and infirmities (James 5:14-17). Others are established in fear, in the sense of sin, the sense of lack and inability (Isaiah 41:10). We want to learn to be established in the Word. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Thursday, May 18, 2023

The Bible on the Table 5/19 Friday Faith

The Word is a dead word in the Bible on the table. It only takes on life as we begin to act it, as we give it place, as we practice it in our daily conduct. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Wednesday, May 17, 2023

The Conscience 5/18 Thursday Thoughts

The conscience is the voice of the human spirit. It is governed by human reasonings and environment before it is recreated; but after it receives Eternal Life, it can become the voice of God. -- E.W. Kenyon

As He Gave 5/17 Wednesday Wisdom

God so loved that He gave. I so love that I give. I so love that I give my time; I give my money; I give my ability. I lay it all upon the altar of grace. He loves you now and He wants you to love Him as He loved you. He wants you to give as He gave. You can't give as much, but you can give with the same spirit of love that He gave, can't you? -- E.W. Kenyon.

Monday, May 15, 2023

More Than Conquerors 5/16 Tuesday Truth

Rest under the shadow of that great Rock in this weary land; and you hear someone saying, "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us." You know who you are, what you are. (1 John 3:2). You know Who is backing you up, Who is protecting you. For it is God who is at work within you working and willing His own precious will. (Philippians 2:13). -- E.W. Kenyon.

Every Believer Should Know 5/15 Monday Meditation

Every believer owes it to himself to be established in the Word, to be settled and fixed so that he will not be wafted about by every wind and storm. (Ephesians 4:14-16) He should know what he is in Christ, know it so thoroughly that no matter what happens he stands unruffled, unaffected. (Ephesians 1:3-7) He should know what Christ is to him, and what He has done for him, and what He is doing for him now. (I Corinthians 1:30; Philippians 1:16; and Hebrews 7:25) -- E.W. Kenyon

Saturated With God 5/12 Friday Faith

Ephesians 1:3 brings to us, "Blessed be the God and Father of my Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed me with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ." How it thrills the heart! He has blessed us with the fullness of Himself. As the air is saturated with moisture, so your spirit and body are saturated with God. You have received the gift of grace which means the unveiling of the Father's very purpose in you in such abundance that people are affected by what you say. You are rooted and grounded in love. Men are affected by it; selfishnes shrinks and shrivels in the presence of this love life in you. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Wednesday, May 10, 2023

A Doer of the Word 5/11 Thursday Thoughts

I become a doer of the Word, then I become a doer of Love. I become a doer of Faith. I become a doer of this abundant life that is in me. I am living it, letting it loose in me. It lives in me, and rules me. I am not deceiving myself now with some empty profession because I assent to a creed or the doctrines of a church. This means very little to the world and to the Father. But now that Word has become a part of my very being. It is building into me the Love Nature of the Father. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Tuesday, May 9, 2023

We Are of Love 5/10 Wednesday Wisdom

We are of Love and he who knows Love will listen to us. You see, "Love is of God, and everyone that loveth is begotten of God" (I John 4:7). The test of the New Birth is this Love Life. How beautiful it would be if we were actually swallowed up of love. This is what it means -- swallowed up of life, and life is love. It would solve the home problem, wouldn't it? There would be no quarreling or bitterness. What a heavenly atmosphere the children would grow up in; they would never hear an unkidn word or a bitter criticism. -- E.W. Kenyon

Monday, May 8, 2023

Life Abundantly 5/9 Tuesday Truth

"I am come that ye might have life and have it abundantly (or in abundance)" (John 10:10). The Father wants you to have the abundance of His Nature. He wants your whole spirit and soul swallowed up in His Life. (2 Corinthians 5:4). He wants you so dominated by His Nature that Satan can gain no advantage over you. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Sunday, May 7, 2023

You Must Not Forget 5/8 Monday Meditation

You must not forget that you have Him inside you, the One Who raised Jesus from the dead. He is actually there. Read Ephesians over and over again until it prevails in your life, then whisper, "God is working in me according to His ability (for that word power means ability). His grace, His love, His Life is effectually working in me." -- E. W. Kenyon.

Thursday, May 4, 2023

You Stand Invincible 5/5 Friday Faith

Matthew 5:10, "Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Men won't persecute you for your righteousness; that will be Satan. He will bring scandal upon your life. He will make you look unrighteous. When he cannot make you to be unrighteous, he will scandalize you. But you remember Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn." You will find that the people through whom Satan persecutes you for righteousness' sake will suffer... They cannot touch you. They may rob you of your reputation, but they cannot touch your spirit. You stand invincible. You are the righteousness of God in Christ. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Wednesday, May 3, 2023

What More Do You Want? 5/4 Thursday Thoughts

Can't you hear Him whisper (Isaiah 41:10), "Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." What more do you want? -- E. W. Kenyon.

Begin to Live the Word 5/3 Wednesday Wisdom

Well, the Spirit that raised up Christ from the dead will give clearness to your mind if you will practice it. Begin to live the Word. Begin to take your place right now as a son or daughter in the family. You whisper, "Father, I am what You say I am. I can do what You say I can do in Christ. I can do all things in Him Who strengtheneth me" (Phil. 4:13). -- E. W. Kenyon.

Monday, May 1, 2023

New Creation 5/2 Tuesday Truth

You are a New Creation. If all you ever had was forgiveness of sins, Satan could claim you for his own. He could say, "You are mine." But now he has been defeated. He looks upon you as a New Creation, a branch of the Vine, Jesus, Who conquered him. The only thing he can do now is to hinder that branch from bearing fruit. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Sunday, April 30, 2023

Perfect Fellowship 5/1 Monday Meditation

Not only is it a perfect redemption, but a redemption of a perfect New Creation; and with that New Creation is a perfect righteousness. With that perfect righteousness is a perfect fellowship, and with that perfect fellowship is absolute dominion over the adversary in the Name of Jesus Christ. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Thursday, April 27, 2023

Satan Is Defeated 4/28 Friday Faith

As long as I walk in love, Satan is a defeated being as far as I am concerned. When I step out of love, I step over into no man's land, where Satan has access to me. When I walk in the light as He is in the light, Satan has no dominion over me. -- E. W. Kenyon.

We Died With Him 4/27 Thursday Thoughts

Galatians 2:20 describes our place, "I have been crucified with Christ." ... In the mind of Justice every one of us was nailed to that cross in Christ. Then when He died, we died with Him. His death was a substitutionary death. It was our death. Sin slew Him -- our sin slew Him. I suppse, if the truth were known, we slew Him. Then Jesus, taking us and our sins with Him, went to the place where we should have gone alone, and there suffered until every claim of Justice was fully met. -- E.W. Kenyon.

A Will of Love 4/26 Wednesday Wisdom

We have thought that the Father's will would be hard, and we shrank from doing it. But, instead, is is a will of Love. As you walk in the Father's Will, you always walk in the Light. You will never injure anyone. Your words will be saturated with love. You will walk in the light, for His will is the Light. You will walk in Love, for His will is Love. -- E. W. Kenyon.

My Shepherd 4/24 Monday Meditation

The shepherd is responsible for the protection of the sheep. He is responsible for their food and water, and so my Shepherd, Jesus, says, "I am the Bread of Life. He that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." How that fits into the thought of the shepherd. He leads me where the waters are gentle and quiet. He takes me back then where the alfalfa is rich. In every place in life He cares for me. -- E.W. Kenyon.

The Strength of Your Life 4/21 Friday Faith

Let Him have His way with you. Let Him govern you. Don't be afraid of Him. No one loves you as He loves you. He is the strength of your life. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Wednesday, April 19, 2023

God Is Your Supply 4/20 Thursday Thoughts

Philippians 4:19, "And my God shall supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.: God is your supply. Its limit is His wil. His will only limits your ability. "My Father does supply," you whisper over and over again. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Tuesday, April 18, 2023

Rest in Him 4/19 Wednesday Wisdom

Your Heavenly Father knows your needs, knows your surroundings, the opposition, knows the whole thing. You rest in Him. You are His child; you are in His family; you are a branch of the Vine. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Monday, April 17, 2023

Holding Fast 4/18 Tuesday Truth

It is of vital importance that after we have prayed we never go back on our prayers. Many repudiate the Word by the confession of a doubt or admission of a doubt into their consciousness. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Sunday, April 16, 2023

Plenty of Time 4/17 Monday Meditation

A woman said to me, "I haven't time to study the Word. I have so many things to do in my home." A year or two afterward she was taken very, very ill. Doctors said that an operation was the only hope, but that she had just very little chance -- one in one thousand. I said, "You have plenty of time now for studying the Bible." And she remembered. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Forgive and Cleanse 4/14 Friday Faith

"For if we sin, He is faithful and righetous to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." [1 John 1:8, paraphrased] He forgives our sins that we have committed, and He cleanses us from unrighteousness and restores to us fellowship with Himself. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Wednesday, April 12, 2023

If We Sin 4/13/23 Thursday Thoughts

Did you ever notice that if a man sins, he has an " Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous"? Any man who commits sin loses his sense of Righteousness and is ashamed to go into the presence of the Father. Then he asks forgiveness, and the Father listens to his Advocate, Jesus. You see, Jesus is our Advocate and can plead for us who have lost our sense of Righteousness, and our Righteousness is restored. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Tuesday, April 11, 2023

See Things Differently 4/12 Wednesday Wisdom

If we could remember that we are living in the actual presence of God, our Father, and of Jesus all the time, we would see things differently. Jesus says in John 15:5, "I am the Vine and ye are the branches." Well, the branch is a part of the Vine and is in the presence of the Vine all the time. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Monday, April 10, 2023

When Jesus Arose 4/12 Tuesday Truth

When Jesus arose from the dead, He arose, not only because He had put sin away, but also because He had, as a sustitute, conquered Satan. It was as though we, individually, had been the conquerors, just as though we had been there in that dark region and had conquered Satan, stripped him of his authority and risen from the dead. Then Christ arose from the dead and Redemption became a settled fact, a closed issue. -- E.W. Kenyon.

New Covenant and Resurrection 4/10 Monday Meditation

The New Covenant came into being in the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus. He had fulfilled the Old Covenant with its laws, ceremonies, and priesthoods, and had laid it aside. That is when He said on the Cross, "It is finished." Now God raises Him from the dead, the Head of a New Covenant, He Himself is the High Priest, and we are the holy priesthood and the Royal Priesthood. -- E.W. Kenyon

Good Friday Quote 4/7 Friday Faith

I am rerunning a Good Friday quote that I posted several years ago. The cross was two pieces of dead wood; and a helpless, unresisting Man was nailed to it; yet it was mightier than the world, and triumphed, and will ever triumph over it. -- Augustus William Hare

Wednesday, April 5, 2023

New Creation 3/5 Thursday Thoughts

Jesus actually conquered our enemy and delivered us out of his dominion. When He did that, He made possible our New Creation, and when we were made New Creations we received the Nature of God in our spirits. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Tuesday, April 4, 2023

Complete in Him 4/5 Wednesday Wisdom

From today you are taking your place in Christ. You recognize that you have been delivered out of Satan's dominance. You recognize that you have been translated into the kingdom of the Son of His love. You are in the Father's family. You have a perfect right to the Throne Room now, and you have seen that every sin that you have ever committed has been wiped out as though it had never been. You stand complete in Him. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Monday, April 3, 2023

Feed on the Word 4/4 Tuesday Truth

So you are to study the Word, pore over the Word, feed on the Word, act on the Word until the Word is built into you and becomes a part of your prayer life. Then it is no longer an exercise of praying for faith but a fellowship with the Father. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Sunday, April 2, 2023

His Living Word 4/3 Monday Meditation

You see, under the old covenant God could not talk to the Jews as He talks to us through our spirits, so an angel was sent. But to us today, we have His living Word. John 6:63, "The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." -- E.W. Kenyon.

Thursday, March 30, 2023

Let Love Rule Your Life 3/30 Friday Faith

Do you want to be a soul-winner? Do you want to be a teacher of the Word? Let love rule your life. You can never amount to anything unless you do, for you can never be a blessing to the world until love dominates you. I John 4:7-9, "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Herein was the love of God manifested in us, that God hath sent His only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him." -- E.W. Kenyon.

Wednesday, March 29, 2023

The Failure of Christianity 3/30 Thursday Thoughts

The failure of Christianity is not the failure of the nature of God in man, but it is because man has substituted church organizatiion for the New Creation. Sense Knowledge has gained the supremacy in the church, and Jesus is no longer Lord or Head of the Church. Worldly-minded men rule most of the churches. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Tuesday, March 28, 2023

Imitators of God 3/29 Wednesday Wisdom

In Ephesians 5:1-2 he told us that we are to imitate God. Now Paul says to "imitate me." Paul could not say that unless he was an imitator of God. What does it mean to imitate God? It means to walk in love. I Corinthians 13 tells us that love seeketh not its own. Love beareth all things... And above all things, love never fails. --E.W. Kenyon.

Monday, March 27, 2023

New Creation 3/28 Tuesday Truth

You are to walk, not as the sons of Abraham walked in the realm of the senses, but as a New Creation man you are to walk in the spirit. Galatians 5:16, "But I say, walk by the spirit (the recreated human spirit) and ye shall not fulfill the desires of the senses." This recreated spirit is to dominate the senses and to govern the individual. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Sunday, March 26, 2023

Act on the Word 3/27 Monday Meditation

You do not need faith for the things that are possible to the senses. Faith is needed only for the impossible, and you dare to act on the Word as though the impossible had become a possibility . . . a reality. Jeremiah 1:12, "I watch over My Word to perform it." And Luke 1:37, "No Word from God is void of power." Act on these fearlessly, and God will unveil Himself to your spirit. -- E.W. Kenyon

Tuesday, March 21, 2023

Not a Doubter 3/22 Wednesday Wisdom

This will be the last post of the week. Your faith requires no evidence but the Word, requires no proof from the senses. Faith is blind to all but the Word. It rises above the realm of the senses. It has its own way, its own weapons, its own ground for assurance. It is the Word. II Corinthians 5:7, "For we walk by faith and not by sight (or senses)." The believer is a believer. He is not a doubter. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Monday, March 20, 2023

Green Pastures 3/21 Tuesday Truth

I will not be posting on Thursday and Friday of this week. I am by the waters of plenty. There is no need that He cannot supply. You say it over and over again, "The Lord is my Shelpherd -- my Bread-Provider, my Rent-Payer.:" The world's lord may lead one into want, into pain and heartache; but my Lord leads into green pastures. E.W. Kenyon.

Sunday, March 19, 2023

Your Combat 3/20 Monday Meditation

I will not be posting for Thursday and Friday, March 23 and 24. Now you bring the Living Word of God to combat the reasonings of the senses. You are not swayed by the things you see -- an empty purse, a weak body, or a lack of work. You must never think of your combat as against the thing that you can see or hear or feel. Your combat is with the prince of the power of the air that rules people's feelings and fills hem with fear. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Greater Than Any Force or Power 3/17 Friday Faith

I John 4:4, "Ye are of God, my little children, and have overcome them, for greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world." The One who raised Jesus from the dead is in you -- the new creation. You have the life and nature of God, and the One that is in you is greater than any force or power outside of you. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Wednesday, March 15, 2023

Righteousness 3/16 Thursday Thoughts

Righteousness means the ability to stand in God's presence as though sin had never been -- stand there without any sense of inferiority or condemnation. That means now -- not after death. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Tuesday, March 14, 2023

Quiet Confidence 3/15 Wednesday Wisdom

When He tells us in I Peter 5:7, "Casting all your anxiety upon Him for He careth for you," with loving joy we throw off our burdens upon the Lord as one lays down a heavy load from his shoulder. We say, "Thank you, Father, for bearing this load. Thank you for carrying it for me." Anxiety has stopped and we rest with quiet confidence in that living Word. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Monday, March 13, 2023

The Love Nature 3/14 Tuesday Truth

The light of life is love. God is light. In Him is no darkness at all because God is love. We love now, we have received the love nature, and love is to dominate us. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Sunday, March 12, 2023

A Part of My Being 3/13 Monday Meditation

You understand that the mind cannot be renewed [only] by the study of the Word. There must be a continual practice of the Word. The Word must live in me so that it becomes part of me, just as my blood is a part of me, just as my muscles are a part of me, the Word must become a part of my very being. -- E. W. Kenyon.

My Daily Battle 3/3 Friday Faith

THIS WILL BE THE LAST POST UNTIL MONDAY, MARCH 13. The battle that we fight in our daily walk is with our senses. I want the thing that I see. I may want to drink it. I may want to eat it. I may want to feel it. My spirit must govern my senses. My mind must be so renewed by knowing the Word and acting on the Word that I can easily conquer the senses. -- E.W. Kenyon.

No Power Can Defeat You 3/2 Thursday Thoughts

Now you can say with Paul, "I can do all things in Christ Who enables me." There is no power of Satan that can defeat you, for the Father has made you more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Make Your Life a Success 3/1 Wednesday Wisdom

First, you are God's fellow workers. He has called you to labor with Him; so whatever your work is, as long as you are in His will, He is a partner with you. You can't be a failure, for His wisdom is your wisdom; His ability in every department of your life is your ability. All you need to do is to study the Word and get the knowledge that is imparted to you there. Then He will give you the ability to use that knowledge to make your life a success. -- E.W. Kenyon. I will not be posting next week.

Watch Your Words! 2/28 Tuesday Truth

But when you have a negative testimony and you talk about your lack and your weakness, the adversary takes advantage of your confession and brings you down to the level of it. -- E.W. Kenyon. I will not be posting next week (March 6-10).

Tried to Conquer 2/27 Monday Meditation

We have tried to conquer the adversary with our own strength. We have tried to overcome temptation with our own wills. That is unnecessary, for His will has become ours; His sufficiency is ours; His ability is ours. -- E.W. Kenyon.

A Recreated Spirit 3/24 Friday Faith

Then the old bondage of fear and want and disease is gone. You have another spirit now, a recreated spirit. God is no longer God to you: He is your Father, and as a Father, He is your Lover and Caretaker. You aren't afraid of anything now. You are absolutely fearless, and now you "put up a solid front" before all your enemies. You lift your banner; you shout His praises; you stand complete in Him over every circumstance and every attack of the enemy. -- E.W. Kenyon.

When You Know This 2/23 Thursday Thoughts

If you are a New Creation, Satan has nothing in you. That New Creation is all of God. The old thing that Satan owned and controlled is all passed away and the things that are in you now are all of God. When you know this as you know the multiplication table, you will have something that will absolutely put to flight the forces of Satan. There isn't any reason why we should live in constant fear of sin and doubt when we are the very sons and daughters of God. -- E.W. Kenyon

Forgiveness and Remission 2/22 Wednesday Wisdom

It is very important that we understand the difference between forgiveness and the remission of sins. A man receives remission of sins when he is born again. He may receive forgiveness of sins after he is Born Again as often as he sins. You remember I John 1:19, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." -- E.W. Kenyon.

Then It Is Real 2/21 Tuesday Truth

As long as one holds his Redemption as a theory or as a doctrine it will bring him no sense of reality, but as soon as he looks up and says, "Father, I thank Thee for my perfect Redemption, that this body of mine is no longer under the dominance of Satan, that my mind and senses are no longer to be dominated by the Adversary; I am free, and by Thy grace I will not be entangled again in the yoke of bondage" -- then, it is real. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Inside of Me 2/20 Monday Meditation

Israel could conquer all the armies that came against them, for God was with them. How much more can God do through us when we are conscious of His indwelling Presence. When things press hard, we whisper softly, "He is inside of me, and the God inside of me is mightier than all the forces that can come against me." So we rest quietly. -- E.W. Kenyon.

I Am With You 2/17 Friday Faith

And then He whispers, "I will strengthen you, no matter what your work may be." If it is physical strength, He is your sufficiency. If it is mental strength, He meets you. And if it is spiritual strength that will give you courage to face impossibilities, He is there. You notice, "I am with you" ... Now He says, "Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world" (I John 4:4). -- E. W. Kenyon.

I Am Your Father 2/16 Thursday Thoughts

Now notice this sentence. "I am with thee." He is in the home with you; He is in the shop with you; He is in the school with you. "Fear thou not for I am God Almighty, Creator of the Universe. I am your Father; I am watching over you. Be not dismayed, for I am thy God." I know of no other statement in Scripture that thrills me like that. "I am thy God -- thy Father-God, the strength of your life, your wisdom, your ability. I am your 'bread provider.' I am your caretaker. I am all you need." -- E.W. Kenyon.

Ability of God Becomes Ours 2/15 Wednesday Wisdom

"If a man love me he will keep my Word." That means that we are taking our place as sons. We will take the responsibility of sons. We will bear the burden of it, and we will enjoy the privileges of it. If we do that, then He will assume His place as a Father and will make His home with us, take care of us and enable us to meet our obligations, enable us to walk in love and in wisdom, and to walk in the fullness of his fellowship. Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things in Him that strengtheneth me." Here is the ability of God that becomes our the moment that we come into the family. -- E.W. Kenyon.

His Place as a Father 2/14 Tuesday Truth

And not only are we sons, but we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ. God is our actual Father. John 16:27, "For the Father Himself loveth you, because you have loved me." If we are His children and if He is our Father, then He is responsible for us. If we take our place as sons, He is bound to take His place as a Father. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Sunday, February 12, 2023

In His Kingdom 2/13 Monday Meditation

We are in His kingdom. Colossians 1:13, "Who delivered us out of the authority of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love." We have found His Righteousness. II Corinthians 5:21, "Him Who knew no sin He made to be sin on our behalf; that we might become the Righteousness of God in Him." Then we are in the family. (Romans 8:14-16.) And in I John 3:1, we read, "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God: Beloved, now are we children of God." -- E.W. Kenyon.

The Bread Provider 2/10 Friday Faith

So with the heart man believes that Jesus is his Rigeteousness, and then he makes a confession of his salvation, of the Lordship of Jesus over his life. "Lordship" really means "the bread provider," the one who sustains, protects, and cares for us. So in the very beginning of Divine Life, Jesus assumes the responsibility of our caretaker. -- E.W. Kenyon.

In His Name 2/9 Thursday Thoughts

Has that Name lost any of its authority? The Church has never used it. You hear them pray to Jesus and for Jesus' sake, but we hear almost no one pray intelligently to the Father in this Name. You see, Jesus gave us the power of attorney to use His Name. John 15:16, "And whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My Name, He may give it you." -- E.W. Kenyon

Our Place in Christ 2/8 Wednesday Wisdom

The Scriptures describe the Adversary, tell us much about him. But it tells us more of what we are in Christ; and as we come to know our place in Christ, our rights and privileges, we become very conscious of any division in our walk. We know the moment we step out of love, we step into No-Man's-Land where the Adversary gains the ascendancy. --E. W. Kenyon.

The Instant You Believe 2/7 Tuesday Truth

The instant you believe you become a possessor of the Father's nature. You become as much a child of God as Jesus was in His earth walk. You may not have developed; you may not have grown in grace and in the knowledge of the Word; you may not have taken advantage of your privileges as a son; but you are a son, an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ. Until we recognize that we are New Creations, the very sons and daughters of God, we will never take our place. --E.W. Kenyon.

He Is With You 2/6 Monday Meditation

He is with you in the living Word. He is with you in the presence of the mighty Spirit that lives in us. He hasn't left us alone, and He will not leave us alone. His ability is our ability; His strength is our strength. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Thursday, February 2, 2023

Father-Pleasers 2/3 Friday Faith

You are a doer of the Word. The Word is living in your lips. It is just as though the Master spoke it Himself. Tat man gets what he prys for. We do the things that are pleasing to Him. In other words, we are taking Jesus' place. We are Father-pleasers just as Jesus was (John 8:29). -- E.W. Kenyon.

Wednesday, February 1, 2023

Prayer Is a Reality 2/2 Thursday Thoughts

Prayer is a reality. He [the real "doer"] is not talking off into space. He is in the Throne Room in the presence of the Father. Here the Name of Jesus is always honored. He receives that for which he asks. . . That is the real doing of the Word, not just a doctrine, but God speaking and God living in His own Word in us. -- E.W. Kenyon.

A Real Doer 2/1 Wednesday Wisdom

The hearer may show many blossoms of promise, but it is the doer that delivers the ripened fruit. The Word lives in him, he lives in the Word. He is the fruit-bearing branch -- a real doer. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Live the Word 1/31 Tuesday Truth

We do the Word, we live the Word, we act the Word, we trust implicitly in the Word, and we know that God and His throne are back of every word. That gives us a quiet, restful confidence. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Sunday, January 29, 2023

The Word Prevails 1/30 Monday Meditation

The Word at last prevails. We are what He says we are. We can do what He says we can do. He is what He says He is, and no Word from Him is void of ability to make good in us. -- E.W. Kenyon.

All the Strength I Need 1/26 Friday Faith

Psalm 27:1, "Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear; Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Did He say that He is the strength of my life? Then He IS. I have all the strength I need for my emergency or any need. Do I lack wisdom? (Most of us do.) Well, I Corinthians 1:30 says that God made Jesus to be wisdom unto us. That means that we shall have ability to use the knowledge that is given to us in the Word, that we are no longer to walk in darkness, for we have the light of life. -- E. W. Kenyon.

The Secret of Faith 1/26 Thursday Thoughts

My heart never recognized the secret of Faith until I saw this truth: that the Word must prevail over my mind. When the Word became as real to me as the word of a friend or a banker, then Faith ceased to be a problem. I no longer thought of Faith or the need of it. You see, Jesus never intimated a need of Faith. Why? Becasuse He had the Father's Words. Did God say it? Yes! THEN IT IS! -- E.W. Kenyon.

Have Your Own Faith 1/25 Wednesday Wisdom

One should never trust the great issues of his life to another's faith. He should have faith of his own, faith that can meet any crisis that may come. Your case is vital to you. It may not be vital to this other party to whose faith you look. He may have troubles that are unsolved, inward struggles that have never been settled. His faith may be at a low ebb when you appeal to him for aid. It is vitally important to you that you have your own faith to fall back on in these hard places. --E.W. Kenyon

A Visit With Him 1/24 Tuesday Truth

The Word takes the place of the unseen Christ. Meditation in the Word is a visit with Him. The Word becomes a part of one by meditation. The Word living in us gets into our blood. -- E.W. Kenyon

Acting on the Word 1/23 Monday Meditation

Mark 16:18, "They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover." This means nothing until we act on it. "in My Name they shall cast out demons." This scripture means nothing until we act on it. John 15:16, "That whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My Name He will do it." This scripture is useless, dead, until we act on it. It is acting on the Word that builds faith in the believer. You may have all the promises; you may have the mighty Spirit dwelling in you; but if you do not act on the Word, God is impotent in you. Acting on the Word makes Jesus vitally real to the believer. (2 Corinthians 5:7) -- E.W. Kenyon

Intimate With God 1/20 Friday Faith

What would it mean to have the Father and Jesus both living in your house? It would insure the rent, the taxes, and all the bills, becuase the Father would pay His way and enable you to meet every obligation. How intimate He wishes to become with us. (See Matthew 6:31-33.) -- E.W. Kenyon

Live It 1/19 Thursday Thoughts

I am beginning a series of quotes from Advanced Bible Studies by E.W. Kenyon. These quotes will be reruns from 2015 and 2019. Colossians 3:10, "And have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of Him that created him." The mind is renewed by studying the Word and by acting upon it. One may study the Word for years, but if he does not act it, live it, is not a doer, the mind is not renewed... Many Bible students are deceiving themeselves because they are not acting, living, doing the Word.

The Secret of Faith 1/18 Wednesday Wisdom

We are back from a trip to Florida and Alabama where we attended a baby shower for our first great-grandchild, expected to be born in February. The following is the summary of the entire book, In His Presence, by E.W. Kenyon. I will be continuing with another book by Kenyon. Get so that your spirit is sensitive to His desires. If you live with a loved one, and it is a love union and a love walk, you are very sensitive to the things that the loved one enjoys and desires. Now you begin to live with the Father and the Master until after awhile you will say as Jesus did, "I know my Father." . . . "I am walking in the light of the life of God in my spirit. "I am visiting with the Father almost continuously." This is the secret of faith.

Walking in Love 1/12 Thursday Thoughts

This will be my last post until Tuesday or Wednesday. It makes no difference how many promises you plead, if you are not walking in love, your prayer life will be a failure. Many people have come to me for prayer when they were sick and I have prayed for them and obtained no results. When I asked them why my prayers were not answered, they confessed that they had bitterness in their heart toward someone. The moment that bitterness was taken away, there were perfectly well. The 23rd verse [1 John 3:23] is worthy of much meditation. This is the commandment, "That we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ and love one another." -- E.W. Kenyon.

You Can Pray 1/11 Wednesday Wisdom

You can pray for you know how. . . Dare to act your part. Dare to let God use you. Dare to let Love reign in your life. Dare to be in your daily life what He says you are. Dare to do what He says you can do. Dare to confess that you are what He says you are! All is your. Use it. -- E.W. Kenyon I will not be posting Friday through Tuesday.

Monday, January 9, 2023

You Can Do It 1/10 Tuesday Truth

We contact God through the Word. God contacts us through the Word. We act on the Word. Now arise in your prayer life. Take the place God has given you. Set men free; heal the sixk; save the lost. You can do it. -- E.W. Kenyon. I will not be posting Thursday, Jan. 12, through Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Sunday, January 8, 2023

The Word of God 1/9 Monday Meditation

Now we have the Father and Jesus and the Throne back of every word. If that Word should fail, it would dethrone God. It cannot fail. God cannot be separated from His Word. Every Word of God abides. The word of man is as grass, but the Word of God lives on through the ages. -- E.W. Kenyon I will not be posting Thurs., Jan. 12 through Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Thursday, January 5, 2023

Take Your Place 1/6 Friday Faith

You have seen what you are in Christ, now take your place as a prayer warrior. Make hell fear you. Make heaven glad. Fill hearts of men with joy witnessing your winning prayer life. Healing the sick is His will. Saving the lost is His will. Breaking Satan's dominion over men is His will. Praying for ministers and missionaries is His will. . . Now swing free in your prayer life. Be big! Honor the Word. Dare to do exploits for Him. - E.W. Kenyon.

Real Assurance 1/5 Thursday Thoughts

The Word can't lie. It is a part of God Himself. We act on the Word. God will make it good. What a foundation is this for a prayer life! We have God's own Word to back us. No Word from God can fail. We can have real assurance in our prayer. When we pray in Jesus' Name, it is as though He prayed. It is answered! -- E. W. Kenyon.

Take the Word Seriously 1/4 Wednesday Wisdom

We have never taken the Word seriously. We have never acted as though it were true. If someone wrote you a letter and told you that he had deposited $5000 to your account in the bank to take care of your bills, and if you knew that he was financially able to do it, you would not hesitate a moment. You could hardly wait to get to the bank. You would hand the letter to the cashier with confidence... Is the Word of your Father, the Word of the Master, to be depended upon as the word of a friend? What a background is this for faith! What a prayer life can grow out of truth like this! You can see what He is to us and what we are to Him. Nothing is impossible to Him, and all His ability is ours. What an opportunity to bless and help by our prayers! -- E.W. Kenyon.

Prayer Privilege 1/3 Tuesday Truth

This begins my 18th year of daily (M-F) posts. It started with a small group of friends whom I invited to receive emails. That email group still continues. I also post my quotes on a blogsite, on my Facebook page, in three Facebook groups, and in two Gab.com groups. The posts have an international readership. Thank you for your interest, as this is currently my primary ministry. Prayer is fellowship with the Fathre and with Jesus, a cultivation of a habit of communion. It is learning to take advantage of our rights in Christ. It is assuming the responsibility that those rights give us. Prayer privilege means prayer responsibility. -- E.W. Kenyon.

Preparation of the Heart 1/2 Monday Meditation

A prayer life doesn't mean hours spent in actual prayer, but hours of study and meditation in the Word until the life becomes literally absorbed in the Word and the Word becomes a very part of us. One could spend hours in prayer fruitlessly if the heart is not prepared beforehand. The preparation of the heart comes from meditation in the Word, meditation on what we are in Christ, what He is to us, and what the Holy Spirit can mean to a life that becomes God-inside-minded. -- E.W. Kenyon
