Always a Good Report 1/31 Friday Faith

This... faith is the gift God is willing to give us in order (if need be) that we may subdue kingdoms, work righteousness, and stop the mouths of lions; ability to triumph under all circumstances because our helper is Almighty God.  Always strong, faithful.  The faithful always have a good report -- living in the divine order of victory -- because God has taken His place in them.  The divine author bringing to our minds "thus saith the Lord" every time.

The Living Word 1/30 Thursday Thoughts

For God's Word is:
  1. Supernatural in origin.
  2. Eternal in duration.
  3. Inexpressible in valor.
  4. Infinite in scope.
  5. Regenerative in power.
  6. Infallible in authority.
  7. Universal in application.
  8. Inspired in totality.

  • Write it down.
  • Pray it in.
  • Work it out.
  • Pass it on.

Faith and Power 1/28 Wednesday Wisdom

Faith in God, power with God, lies in the knowledge of the Word of God.  We are no better than our faith.  For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.  If you believe in Him, you are purified for He is pure.  You are strengthened for He is strong.  You are made whole because He is whole.

An Overflowing Cup 1/28 Tuesday Truth

What we want is more of the Holy Ghost.  Oh, beloved.  It is not merely a measure, it is a pressed down measure.  It is not merely a pressed down measure, it is shaken together and running over.  Anybody can hold a full cup, but you cannot hold an overflowing cup, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost is an overflowing cup.  Praise the Lord!

A New Man 1/27 Monday Meditation

This sounds so familiar that I'm not sure but what I used it before.  Perhaps he said the same thing in a different sermon.
But God wants a man to be on fire so that he will always speak as an oracle of God.  He wants to so build that man on the foundations of God that everyone who sees and hears him will say, "That is a new man after the order of the Spirit."

...old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17

The Holy Ghost is ... 1/24 Friday Faith

The Holy Ghost is inspiration, the Holy Ghost is revelation, the Holy Ghost is manifestation, the Holy Ghost is operation, and when a man comes into the fullness of the Holy Ghost he is in perfect order, and built up on scriptural foundations.  I have failed to see any man who understood the 12th, 13th, and 14th chapters of First Corinthians unless he had been baptized with the Holy Ghost.  He may talk about it, but it is all a surface condition.  When he gets baptized with the Holy Ghost he speaks about a deep inward conviction by the power of the Spirit working in him, a revelation of that Scripture.

Spiritual Unction 1/23 Thursday Thoughts

God wants you to be so balanced in spiritual unction [anointing] that you will always be able to do what pleases Him, and not that which shall please other people, or yourself.  The ideal must be that it shall all be to edification, and everything must go on to this end to please the Lord.

Perfect Ground 1/22 Wednesday Wisdom

Back from Florida, where it was sunny and in the 50's and 60's.

There must be three things in our lives if we wish to go right through with God in the fullness of Pentecost.  First we must be grounded and settled in love.  We must have a real knowledge of what love it, and then we must have a clear understanding of the Word, for love must manifest the Word.  Then we must understand clearly our own ground, because it is our own ground that needs to be looked after the most...

So we must clearly understand that the Word of God can never come forth with all its primary purposes unless our ground is right.  But God will help us, I believe, to see that He can make the ground in perfect order as it is put into His hands.

Power of the Holy Spirit Within 1/14 Tuesday Truth

If you wish to be anything for God, do not miss His plan. God has no room for you on ordinary lines.  You must realize that within you there is the power of the Holy Spirit, who is forming within you everything you require.  I believe we have too much preaching, and too little testifying.  You will never have a living Pentecostal church with a preacher every night preaching, preaching, preaching.  The people get tired of this constant preaching, but they never get tired when the whole place is on fire...  So remember, you must awake out of your lethargy.

To See Jesus 1/13 Monday Meditation

To see Jesus is to see a new way, to see all things differently:  new life, new plans; as we gaze at Him we are satisfied; there is none like Him.  Sin moves off.  Jesus was the express image of the Father.  The Father could not be in the midst, so He clothed Jesus with a body -- with eternal resources.  Let us gather unto Him...  He has all we need.  He will fulfill the desire of our hearts, granting all our petitions.

Free in the Spirit 1/10 Friday Faith

The meetings ought to be so free in the Spirit that people would always go away with the feeling, "Oh, I wish the meeting had gone on for another hour."

Singing Victory 1/9 Thursday Thoughts

I always say that you cannot sing victory on a minor key.  If your life is not in constant pitch, you will never ring the bells of heaven.  You must always be in tune with God, and then the music will come out as sweet as possible. We must be the mouthpiece of God, not by letter but by the Spirit, and we must be so in the will of God that He will rejoice over us with singing.

When Our Heart Condemns 1/8 Wednesday Wisdom

When we know that our own heart condemns us not, we can say to the mountain, "Be removed."  But when our own hearts condemn us, there is no power in prayer; no power in preaching.  We are just sounding brass and tinkling cymbals.  May the Holy Ghost show us that there must be a ministry of righteousness.

My Delight 1/7 Tuesday Truth

It is no more "thou shalt not."  It is God's will, revealed to us in Christ.  "I delight to do Thy will, O God."  And, beloved, in our hearts there is exceeding glory.

"Be Ye Holy" 1/6 Monday Meditation

"Be ye holy."  (1 Peter 1:16).  It is as easy as possible to be holy, but you can never be holy by your own efforts.  When you lose your heart and Another takes your heart, and you lose your desires and He takes the desires, then you live in that sunshine of bliss which no mortal can ever touch.  God wants us to be entirely eaten up by this holy zeal of God, so that every day we shall walk in the Spirit.  It is lovely to walk in the Spirit, for He will cause you to dwell in safety, and rejoice inwardly and praise God reverently.

Prayer for the New Year by Dr. A.B. Simpson 1/3 Friday Faith

This was posted on Facebook by Rev. Jack Herman, reposted from Dr. Paul King, the authority on the charismatic history of The Christian and Missionary Alliance.  (I know both of them, but I didn't know Dr. Simpson, although some of my friends think I'm old enough.  LOL)
Here is a wonderful prayer for the New Year from Dr. Simpson. (Thanks to my friend, Paul King for posting it first.)

Happy New Year to all my friends on FB.

May Christ be exalted in your lives in 2014!...

A PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR
A.B. Simpson

 What shall I ask for the coming year?
What shall my watchword be?
What would’st Thou do for me, dear Lord?
What can I do for Thee?

Lord, I would ask for a holy year,
Spent in Thy perfect will;
Help me to walk in Thy very steps—
Help me to please Thee still.

Lord, I would ask for a trustful year;
Humble, and yet so high;
Help to sink at Thy blessed feet,
And on Thy bosom lie.

Lord, I would ask for a year of faith;
Give me thy faith divine,
Taking my full inheritance,
Making Thy fullness mine,

Lord, I would ask for a year of love,
That I may love Thee best;
Give me the love that faileth not,
Under the hardest test.

Lord, I would ask for a busy year,
Filled up with service true;
Doing with all Thy Spirit’s might
All that I find to do.

Lord, I would ask for a year of prayer—
Teach me to walk with Thee;
Breathe in my heart Thy Spirit’s breath;
Pray Thou Thy prayer in me.

Lord, I would ask for a dying world;
Stretch forth Thy mighty hand;
Scatter forth Thy Word—Thy power display
This year in every land.

Lord, I would ask for a year of joy,
Thy peace, Thy joy divine,
Springing undimmed through all the day,
Whether of shade or shine.

Lord, I would ask for a year of hope,
Looking for Thee to come,
And hastening on that year of years,
That brings us Christ and Home
