Just in Time! 5/1 Wednesday Wisdom

He speaks the word just in time! Jesus is never behind time. When the tumult is the worst, the pain the most severe, the cancer gripping the body, then the word comes, "Only believe." When everything seems as though it will fail, and is practically hopeless, the Word of God come to us, "Only believe."

When You Are Weak 4/30 Tuesday Truth

When you are weak, then you are strong. When you are strong in your own strength, you are weak. You must realize this and live only in the place where the power of God rests upon you, and where the Spirit moves within you. Then God will mightily manifest His power and you will know as Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me."

Dare to Believe God 4/29 Monday Meditation

Some time ago in England, the power of God was on the meeting, and I was telling the people they could be healed. If they would rise up I would pray for them and the Lord would heal them. There was a man with broken ribs healed. Then a little girl fourteen years old said, "Will you pray for me?" "Mother," she said, "I am being healed." She had straps on her feet three and one-half inches deep. These were removed and God healed her right away. Dare to believe God, and it shall be as you believe. Amen.

Faith Is a Mighty Power 4/26 Friday Faith

Faith is a mighty power. Faith will reach at everything. When real faith comes into operation you will not say, "I don't feel much better." Faith say, "I am whole." Faith doesn't say, "It's a lame leg:" Faith says, "My leg is all right."

-- Smith Wigglesworth

(This quote was followed by the famous goiter story . . . probably the most often-told story in Word of Faith preaching.)

Rise Into Life 4/25 Thursday Thoughts

The Lord wants us to understand that we must come to a place where our natural life ceases, and by the power of God we rise into a life where God rules, where He reigns. Do you long to know Him? Do you long to be found in Him? The longing shall be satisfied this day. This is a day of putting on and being clothed upon in God. I ask you to fall in the presence of God; all you that want to know God, yield to His mighty power and obey the Spirit.

A Greater Plan 4/24 Wednesday Wisdom

This one's a keeper!

My brother, my sister, you have been nearly weighed down with troubles. They have almost crushed you. Sometimes you thought you would never get out of this place of difficulty but you have no idea that behind the whole thing God has been working a plan greater than all.

A Place of Rest 4/23 Tuesday Truth

There is a place of seclusion, a place of rest and faith in Jesus where there is nothing else like it. Jesus came to them on the water and they were terrified, but He said, "It is I; be not afraid." My brother, He is always there. He is there in the storm as well as in the peace; He is there in the adversity. When shall we know He is there? When we are "found in Him," not having our own work, our own plan, but resting in the omnipotent plan of God.

A Softened Heart 4/22 Monday Meditation

Oh, to win Him, my brother! There are a thousand things in the nucleus of a human heart which need softening a thousand times a day. There are things in us that unless God shows us the excellency of the knowledge of Him, will never be broken and bought to ashes. But God will do it. Not merely to be saved, but to be saved a thousand times over! Oh, this transforming, regeneration by the power of the Spirit of the living God makes me see there is a place to win Him, that I may stand complete there. As He was, so I am to be. The Scriptures declare it, it shall be.

Every Day Revival 4/19 Friday Faith

Every day there must be a revival touch in our hearts. Every day must change us after His fashion. We are to be made new all the time. There is no such thing as having all grace and knowledge -- there is a beginning, and God would have us begin in all these beatitudes of power this morning, and never cease, but rise and go on to perfection.

A Place of Brokenness 4/18 Thursday Thoughts

And I say, brother, sister, unless God brings us into a place of brokenness of spirit, unless God remolds us in the great plan of His will for us, the best of us shall utterly fail. But when we are absolutely taken in hand by the Almighty God, God makes even weakness strength. He makes even that barren, helpless, groaning cry come forth, so that men and women are born in the travail. There is a place where the helplessness is touched by the almightiness of God and where you come out shining as gold tried in the fire.

Christ in Us 1000 Times Greater 4/17 Wednesday Wisdom

God in us for a world, that the world may be blessed. Power to lay hold of omnipotence and impart to others the Word of Life. This is to be a new epoch, new vision, new power. Christ in us is a thousand times greater than we know. All things are possible if you dare believe. The treasure is in earthen vessels that Jesus may be glorified.

Smith Wigglesworth 4/16 Tuesday Truth

I have concluded Carrie Judd Montgomery's book of sermons (published by A.B. Simpson) and I am returning to the complete sermons of Smith Wigglesworth.

Smith Wigglesworth (1859-1947) was an Englishman who never attended school. He always had a desire for God even though his family never attended church. He was saved at age 8. He vowed to never go to sleep until he had won a soul for Christ. His wife taught him to read. He never read anything but the Bible. He would not allow a newspaper in his house because of the possible negative effect on his faith.

Wigglesworth had one of the greatest evangelism and healing ministries of all time. At least nine people were raised from the dead in his ministry.

Jesus had divine authority with power, and He left it for us. We must preach truth, holiness and purity in the inward parts. . . I am thirsty for more of God. He was not only holy, but He loved holiness. . . For as He is, so are we in this world.

Curse Into Blessing 4/15 Monday Meditation

If there is a great trial and defeat in your life today, beloved, do not own it as defeat, but continue, by faith, to claim the victory through Him who is able to make you more than a conqueror. . .

Beloved, trust Him to turn the curse into a blessing for His glory.

God Can Take the Curse 4/12 Friday Faith

God can take the curse and the venom that the devil has in his heart against you, and that he is trying to work out in your life, and change it into the most glorious victory, if you will but trust Him. When Satan sees that God turns his evil work into blessing in our lives, undoubtedly he is sorry that he tried to curse us, and he would like to say to the Lord, "I will take it all back; don't bless them, and don't curse them; just leave them alone."

Making Use of Trials 4/11 Thursday Thoughts

So God turns our sorrow into joy; He takes the very trial and makes use of it to bring about great results for our good, and His glory. Shall we not be more trustful and patient when we do not immediately understand His plans for us?

Opportunities to Exercise Faith 4/10 Wednesday Wisdom

"He delivereth, and rescueth, and worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth." Oh, shall we not learn the lesson that in all the hard places God brings us into, He is making opportunities for us to exercise such faith in Him as will bring about blessed results and greatly glorify His name?

Jesus Was There 4/9 Tuesday Truth

Tuesday marks the 107th anniversary of the beginning of the Azusa Street Revival, which was the beginning of the Pentecostal / charismatic movement. Services went on in the little African-American mission (transformed from a stable) on Azusa S
treet in Los Angeles nonstop for 3 1/2 years. People came from around the world to experience the move of the Holy Spirit, which restored the gift of tongues, accelerated the concurrent revival of the gift of healing, and spurred the biggest missionary movement since the time of the apostles. It is estimated that 80% of the salvations worldwide today are through Pentecostal / charismatic ministries.

When I was telling this story [the three Hebrew children in the fiery furnace] to my little girl one day, she asked me, "Don't you think they were sorry when they had to come out, because Jesus was there with them?"

More Than Conquerors 4/8 Monday Meditation

And so we may fall down in the fiery furnace of affliction, but the fire will only burn the bands that hold us captive, and we shall rise to newness of life. And even the worldly people gazing upon us shall behold that the Lord our God is with us, and that when we walk through the fire "the flames shall not kindle upon us." Praise God for trouble, for suffering, and affliction, because in all these things He makes us more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

It's Not the Miracles 4/5 Friday Faith

People sometimes say to me, "Oh, if God had raised me up from my dying bed as He has you, I would never doubt again!" Yes, you would -- your heart would be mean enough to doubt Him the very next time unless He continually kept you by His grace. Our hearts are so hardened we remember not His miracles unless they are kept tender by the constant influx of His love. It is not the miracles that bind our faith, it is Jesus! He works a constant miracle to do it. Have I abundant faith? It was not because I was raised up from death, but because I have Jesus all the way along abiding in me to be my faith.

You Cannot Go Astray 4/4 Thursday Thoughts

Even when it seems as though the way you had committed to God had gone completely wrong, still rest and trust. Soon you will see the manifestation of your blessed Lord's working. If Jesus leads, you cannot go astray, and "as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."

Nothing Accepted of God 4/3 Wednesday Wisdom

God will let everything fail in which you have trusted, especially all your own natural goodness. . . Nothing, nothing at all of the natural heart will be accepted of God, none of your natural gifts or attainments or graces. Christ must be all, that in all things He may have the pre-eminence.

Not Too Grievous 4/2 Tuesday Truth

The Word says that Paul was "pressed," and the pressure was so great he could not measure it. Only the Crucified Hand could measure Paul's trouble. But He who suffered even unto death Himself was watching, with His measuring scale in hand, ready to make the way of escape before the trial should become too grievous to be borne.
