Full of Faith 8/30 Thursday Thougths

Stephen was a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost. God declares it. God so manifested Himself in Stephen's body that he became an epistle of truth, known and read of all. Full of faith! Such men never talk doubt. You never hear them say, "I wish it could be so; or if it is God's will." No if's. They know. You never hear them say, "Well, it does not always act." They say, "It is sure to be." The laugh at impossibilities and cry, "It shall be done!" A man full of faith hopes against hope. He shouts while the walls are up and they come down while he shouts! God has this faith for us in Christ. We must be careful that no unbelief is found in us, no wavering.

Never the Same Again 8/29 Wednesday Wisdom

God wants us to be like Stephen, full of faith and full of the Holy Ghost. You can never be the same again after you have received this wonderful baptism in the Holy Spirit. It is important that day by day we should be full of wisdom and faith, and full of the Holy Ghost, acting by the power of the Holy Ghost. God has set us here in the last days, these of apostasy, and would have us be burning and shining lights in the midst of an untoward generation. God is longing for us to come into such a fruitful position as the sons of God, with the marks of heaven upon us, His divinity bursting through our humanity, so that He can express Himself through our lips of clay. He can take clay lips, weak humanity, and make of such an oracle [spokesperson] of Himself. He can take frail human nature and by His divine power make our bodies meet to be His holy temple, washing our hearts whiter than snow.

He'll Never Forget Me 8/28 Tuesday Truth

If we dare come believing, God will heal, God will restore, will lift the burden and wake us up to real overcoming faith. Look up! Take courage! Jesus has shaken the foundations of death and darkness. He fighteth for you and there is none like Him. He is the great I AM. His name is above every name. As we believe we are lifted into a place of rest, a place of conformity to Him. He says to us as He did to Abraham, "...I will bless thee... and thou shalt be a blessing" (Genesis 12:2). He says to us as He did to His people of old, "With lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Hallelujah! "He'll never forget to keep me, He'll never forget to keep me; my Father has many dear children, but He'll never forget to keep me." Believe it. He will never forget.

Take Him at His Word 8/27 Monday Meditation

"Greater works than these shall ye do." You say, "How"? Only believe. What is it to believe? It is to have such confidence in what the Lord said that we take Him at His Word because He said it. Glory to God.

Greater Works 8/24 Friday Faith

What I want to impress upon you is that we must see these greater works that the Lord promised we should see. Listen, "Greater works than these shall ye do, because I go to My Father." "And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." What is it that you want? "Whatsoever ye shall ask in my Name, that will I do." Glory to God. Is there any purpose in it? Yes, "that the Father may be glorified in the Son."

Greater Works 8/23 Thursday Thoughts

According to the Blogspot counter, yesterday's post was my 500th post in this blog.

There is something very remarkable and forceful in this verse. It says, "Verily, verily, I say unto you ... greater works than these shall ye do." In the power of His Name there is power against the devil, and all his hosts. It is a marvelous force against all these things. Glory to God.

The Word Cannot Fail 8/22 Wednesday Wisdom

The Word of God cannot fail, because it is the living Word. Listen to the words of Jesus as He says, "Greater works than these shall ye do." I know as truly as I stand upon this platform that we shall see the rising tide of blessing and divine healing go forth with greater power, but Satan will always try to hinder the real work of God. Whenever the power of God is being manifested, Satan will be there tying to upset it. Satanic forces will be there, but God is greater.

Christ Forgave 8/20 Monday Meditation

I'm taking a one-day break from Smith Wigglesworth to share a great quote from D. L. Moody. It's a little long, but it's a fast read.


I can imagine, when Christ said to the little band around Him, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel," Peter said, "Lord, do You really mean that we are to go back to Jerusalem and preach the Gospel to those men who murdered You?"

"Yes," said Christ to Peter, "go hunt up that man who spit in My face and tell him he shall have a seat in My kingdom if he will accept salvation as a gift.

"Yes, Peter, go hunt up that man who made that cruel crown of thorns and placed it on My brow and tell him I will have a crown ready for him when he comes into My kingdom and no thorns in it. I will give him a crown of life.

"Peter, go hunt up the man who took a reed and brought it down over the cruel thorns, driving them into My brow, and tell him I will put a scepter in his hand, and he shall rule over the nations of the earth if he will accept salvation.

"Peter, go hunt up the man who drove the spear into My side and tell him there is a nearer way to My heart than that. Tell him I forgive him freely and that he can be saved if he will accept salvation as a gift.

"Peter, go hunt up the men who drove the nails into My hands and feet and tell them I forgive them freely. Tell them they shall have a seat in My kingdom if they will accept it. Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to EVERY creature."

More Than Overcomers 8/17 Friday Faith

Praise God, it is a fact! Jesus is in our body, and He is the express image of God, and He has come to our human weaknesses to change them and us into a divine substance so that by the power of His might we may not only overcome, but rejoice in the fact that we are more than overcomers. God wants you to have the last part -- more than overcomers! . . . The baptism of the Spirit has come for nothing less than to eat the whole of my life. It set up Jesus as King, and nothing can stand in His holy presence when He is made King.

Empowered for Any Emergency 8/16 Thursday Thoughts

We are a back number if we have to pray for power, if we have to wait until we feel a sense of His presence. The baptism of the Holy Ghost should empower you for any emergency. "Ye shall have power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you." Within you there is a greater power than there is in the world. He at last got me! 8/15 Wednesday Wisdom

It was a tremendous thought for me to know that I had received the Holy Ghost, but I am coming to a great wonderment of splendor to know that the Holy Ghost has at last got me! . . . Nothing less will please the Lord, only a constant, full burnt offering for God, where He is in absolute and inner authority over my whole being, until I am living, thinking, acting in the power of the Holy Ghost. No Condemnation 8/14 Tuesday Truth

There is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus -- no cloud -- nothing between -- oh the thrill of it. Hidden with Christ in God -- immersed, covered -- nothing can break through. It is the grace of God to be here, and as sure as we are here we shall be there. Receiving a Kingdom which cannot be moved, for our God is a consuming fire. There is something very beautiful about being in Christ in God, ready for everything -- ready!

Do you not know that ours is an abundant God, who is able to do for us far exceeding and abundantly above all that we can ask or think? We are illuminated and quickened by the Spirit, looking forward to a day of rapture when we will be caught up and lifted into the presence of God. Too Big 8/10 Friday Faith

There is no power that can convert a man except the power of the blood of Jesus. Brother, the carnal life is not subject to the will of God, neither indeed can be. Carnality is selfishness and uncleanness. It cannot be subject to God; it interferes with you; it brings and keeps you in bondage; but, beloved, God destroys carnality by a new life, which is so much better, and fills you with joy unspeakable and full of glory. The half can never be told. Everything that God does is too big to tell. His grace, His love, His mercy, His salvation, are all too big to understand.

The Word of God 8/8 Wednesday Wisdom

It is one thing to read the Word of God, another thing to believe it. It is possible to be real and earnest and have zeal and fastings and yet not to have faith. And do you not know that one little bit of faith which can only come through the Word of God is worth more than all your cryings -- all your rolling on the floor -- all your screaming and everything; but beloved, God is better than anything.


May the Holy Ghost give us today an inward knowledge of what it is to believe. It is God's purpose to make every believer to subdue everything and to make you perfect and entire and overcoming.

Transformed 8/7 Tuesday Truth

Directly after the baptism of the Holy Ghost came, those crooked, indifferent and peculiar disciples were transformed till one day Peter and John came down and mixed with the people who said: "They are unlearned and ignorant but we see that they have been with Him." Can they say that about us? Have we been with Jesus? Do not think you will comfort people by singing wonderful hymns -- they are lovely. Do not think you will comfort people any other way but by the Word of God being made manifest in that you have been with Jesus.

Ready or Not? 8/6 Monday Meditation

So while we know that Holy Ghost came, it is wrong now to wait for the Holy Ghost. I know it was personally right; it was divinely right for those apostles to hear what Jesus said and to tarry for the Holy Ghost, but it is not right now to tarry for the Holy Ghost. Then why do we not all receive the Holy Ghost, you ask? Because the bodies are not ready for it; the temples are not cleansed. When the temples are purified and the minds put in order so that carnalities and fleshly desires and everything has gone, then the Holy Ghost can take full charge.

"The works that I do, I do not but He that dwelleth in Me." Brother, when that comes to our lost state -- what a transformation. When the Holy Ghost comes, He doeth the work. You are only the instrument, you are the vessel; but glory to God, He condescended to dwell in us -- Praise the Lamb! "The works that I do, I do not; but He doeth them." How lovely to be filled with such incarnation of God's order that the power of the Spirit of the life of Jesus should flow through you and you should be a new creation of the Spirit under the mighty power of God. "If thou hast seen Me, thou hast seen the Father."
