The Word Prevails 1/30 Friday Faith

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: The Word Prevails 1/30 Friday Faith The Word at last prevails. We are what He says we are. We can do what He says we can do. He is what He says He is, and no Word from Him is void of ability to make good in us. -- E.W. Kenyon.

People Who Are Really Glad 1/29 Thursday Thoughts

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: People Who Are Really Glad 1/29 Thursday Thoughts The children of God are the only people who are really glad. We are glad inside and we are glad outside. Our gladness flows from the inside. God has filled us with joy unspeakable and full of glory... This joy in the Holy Ghost is beyond anything else. And this joy of the Lord is our strength. -- Smith Wigglesworth

Let God Loose! 1/28 Wednesday Wisdom

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: Let God Loose! 1/28 Wednesday Wisdom This is one of my all-time favorite quotes. I usually repeat it annually. I used it for a message in church once. Have you been in Canada? Do you know when I was in Canada, there was one thing that struck me peculiarly. The signs would read, "John Brown, Limited." Everywhere I see that sign. I was holding meetings in the old St. Andrew's Church in Sydney. I asked them one night why they did not put their national symbol on their churches. They wondered what I meant. I said, "every other business house is LTD; why don't you put it over the church?" An old Scotchman said, "We don't have to. Everybody knows it." ...Everybody knows the church is limited... Limited? Sure it is limited. [We] Limit God, limit ourselves, limit His grace, limit the Word. Sure, our God is a little bit of a god. Most of us could carry Him in our vest pocket, and it wouldn't bulge the pocket. Our God with the "LTD" on Him. Brother, sister, that challenge comes to us today to let God loose. -- John G. Lake

My Life of Prayer 1/27 Tuesday Truth

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: My Life of Prayer 1/27 Tuesday Truth I remember that years ago I was praying for money to meet our rent bill. I had prayed. Then I went out on the street and I began to wonder how I could get it. Before I realized it I had destroyed my prayer. I had nullified the Word. I came to myself, asked for forgiveness, and then began to thank Him for it. I held myself steady and kept my heart singing songs of victory. That was the beginning of my life of prayer. - E. W. Kenyon.

God's Word Is Everlasting 1/26 Monday Meditation

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: God's Word Is Everlasting 1/26 Monday Meditation God's Word is from everlasting to everlasting. His Word cannot fail. God's Word is true and when we rest in the fact of its truth, what mighty results we can get. -- Smith Wigglesworth

Fellowship Restored 1/23 Friday Faith

He is always Righteous. He can always plead our case. The instant we ask the Father's forgiveness, Jesus takes up our case before the Father and our fellowship is restored. There is no need of walking in broken fellowship a minute after you have committed sin. The Devil is the author of that sin. Then to walk on in broken fellowship, grieving over your blunder, is only adding joy and glory to the Devil. The instant you have done wrong and your fellowship is impaired, ask the Father's forgiveness and go on in fellowship with him. 1 John 1:9, 2:1-1 --E.W. Kenyon

Prayer Alone Gives Success 1/22 Thursday Thoughts

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: Prayer Alone Gives Success 1/22 Thursday Thoughts Preaching and personal work are God-honored and blessed vocations or ministries, but prayer is the foundation of it all. A man might preach with the eloquence of a Beecher and be the most skilled of diplomats as a soul winner, but he will fall short of his ministry in both fields if he isn't backed up by the prayer life. The failure of all Christian enterprises is a prayer failure. Prayer alone gives success. -- E. W. Kenyon.

Needy Places 1/21 Wednesday Wisdom

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: Needy Places 1/21 Wednesday Wisdom You say, "I am in a needy place." It is in needy places that God delights to work. For three days the people that were with Christ were without food, and He asked Philip, "From whence shall we buy bread that these may eat?" That was a hard place for Philip, but not for Jesus, for He knew perfectly what He would do. The hard place is where He delights to show forth His miraculous power. And how fully was the need provided for. Bread enough and to spare! -- Smith Wigglesworth

The Purpose of Salvation (pt. 2) 1/20 Tuesday Truth

SALVATION has so many TREASURES and FACETS to it for you to DISCOVER and APPROPRIATE into your life: HEALING, DELIVERANCE, THE MIND OF CHRIST, DEEP SPIRITUAL CONNECTION, LEARNING TO HEAR MY VOICE, PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FATHER, REVELATION OF MYSTERIES FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT, and CALLING FORTH THOSE THINGS THAT ARE NOT AS THOUGH THEY ARE. (Just to mention a few!) Don’t PUT OFF seeking spirituality as something for Heaven. When you have entered into My Blood sacrifice for your sins and you have made Me your Lord and Life-source, you have stepped into ETERNAL LIFE. It begins NOW and your UNION with Me will continue GROWING through all of eternity. Don’t think of SALVATION as something you need when you DIE because SALVATION’S PURPOSE is to bring you FULLY TO LIFE here on earth as well as in Heaven.” --Diana Larkin (emphasis hers)

The Purpose of Salvation 1/19 Monday Meditation

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: The Purpose of Salvation 1/19 Monday Meditation Today's and tomorrow's quotes were suggested to me by Bob, the longest-time reader (20 years) of Lep's Faith Quotes. So many in My Church have been taught that the PURPOSE OF SALVATION is to make sure that you go to Heaven when you die. SALVATION does guarantee that you will be with Me FOREVER, whether your mortal body is ALIVE or has DIED, but that making sure you are with Me when your body dies should NOT BE THE MAIN FOCUS OF SALVATION. The PURPOSE OF SALVATION was to RESTORE YOU TO LIFE—FULLNESS OF LIFE, ABUNDANT LIVING, and THE RESTORATION OF ALL THAT WAS LOST when sin entered the world. SALVATION is SO MUCH MORE than a TICKET to HEAVEN—it is the ASSURANCE of LIFE LIVED IN UNION WITH ME—whether on earth or in Heaven. --Diana Larkin (emphasis hers)

Power of God 1/16 Friday Faith

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: Power of God 1/16 Friday Faith The Church in general is very clear in her faith on the subject of salvation through the sacrifice of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Christian world in general, regardless of their personal state of salvation, have a general faith and belief of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the salvation of the world. But they are ever in doubt and very inexperienced in the power of God. -- John G. Lake.

The Power of God 1/15 Thursday Thoughts

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: The Power of God 1/15 Thursday Thoughts The power of God is beyond all our conception. The trouble is that we do not have the power of God in a full manifestation because of our finite thoughts, but as we go on and let God have His way, there is no limit to what our limitless God will do in response to a limitless faith. But you will never get anywhere except [unless] you are in constant pursuit of all the power of God. -- Smith Wigglesworth

When We Possess Nothing 1/14 Wednesday Wisdom

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: When We Possess Nothing 1/14 Wednesday Wisdom One of our workers said to me at Christmas time, "Wigglesworth, I never was so near the end of my purse in my life." I replied, "Thank God, you are just at the opening of God's treasures." It is when we are at the end of our own that we can enter into the riches of God's resources. It is when we possess nothing that we can possess all things. -- Smith Wigglesworth

Having Your "I" Knocked Out 1/13 Tuesday Truth

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: Having Your "I" Knocked Out 1/13 Tuesday Truth Someone has said that you are no good until you have your "I" knocked out. Christ must reign within, and the life in the Holy Ghost means at all times the subjection of your own will to make way for the working out of the good and acceptable and perfect will of God within. -- Smith Wigglesworth

Defeated With Your Own Words 1/12 Monday Meditation

LEP'S FAITH QUOTE: Defeated With Your Own Words 1/12 Monday Meditation You said that you could not, and the moment that you said it you were whipped. You said you did not have faith, and doubt arose like a giant and bound you. You are imprisoned with your own words. You talked failure and failure held you in bondage. Prov. 6:2: "Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth. Thou art taken (captive) with the words of thy mouth." Few of us realize that our words dominate us. A young man said, "I was never whipped until I confessed I was whipped." Another said, "The moment I began to make a bold, confident confession, a new courage that I had never known took possession of me." E.W. Kenyon

You Can't Be Conquered 1/9 Friday Faith

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: You Can't Be Conquered 1/9 Friday Faith You can't be conquered. Your spirit is whispering, "Nay, in all these things I am more than a conqueror." Every disease is of the Adversary. All kinds of sin are of the Adversary. All opposition to the glad tidings is of the Adversary. God and I are victors. Greater is He that is in me than this opposition or this disease. There is no need that is greater than my Lord. There is no lack that He cannot meet. This indomitable will that God has wrought in you cannot be overwhelmed, or conquered. You remember what you are -- you are a New Creation. You are a branch of the vine. You are an heir of God. --E.W. Kenyon

Pure Right Through 1/9 Thursday Thoughts

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: Pure Right Through 1/8 Thursday Thoughts The power of God can remodel you. He can make you hate sin and love righteousness. He can take away bitterness and hatred and covetousness and malice, and can so consecrate you by His power, through His blood, that you are made pure -- every bit holy. Pure in mind, heart and actions -- pure right through. -- Smith Wigglesworth

The Church Has Been Negligent 1/5 Tuesday Truth

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: The Church Has Been Negligent 1/5 Tuesday Truth This marks my twentieth year of posting Lep's Faith Quotes. I currently post them in six locations on the web and in an email group. I take my quotes from volumes of the complete sermons and writings of four "Pentecostal pioneers" of the early 20th Century who are seldom quoted nowadays. I read the books long ago and marked hundreds of quotes in each book which can stand alone without the context of the sermons. The Church is the ministering presence of the Son of God in the world. The Church is the generating agency of the power of God in the world. The Church has been negligent in one great trust. She has not prayed the power of God out of heaven. -- John G. Lake

Parallel With the World 1/5 Monday Meditation

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: Parallel With the World 1/5 Monday Meditation I do not know what your state of grace is -- whether you are saved or not; but it is an awful thing for me to see people, who profess to be Christian, lifeless and powerless, and in a place where their lives are so parallel with the world's that it is difficult to discriminate which place they are in, whether in the flesh or in the Spirit. Many people live in the place which is described to us by Paul in Romans 7:25: ...with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh, the law of sin. -- Smith Wigglesworth

Bring Our Hearts Back 1/2 Friday Faith

LEP'S FAITH QUOTES: Bring Our Hearts Back 1/2 Friday Faith At the end of the first 300 years of the Christian era, there were millions of Christians. Christianity was an aggressive power. Christianity went into the heart of heathendom to undo their superstitions, to break down their psychological forces, to leave the consciousness of Jesus Christ in the heart, to heal the sick, to raise the dead. Oh, God in heaven, bring our hearts back to it. Christianity was a conquering force. -- John G. Lake
